  1. 1. 8
    2. Lacking ten because I wasn't confident in taking the ball with my left foot. However, I'm generally fitter this time and didn't tire out, explaining the slightly higher rating this time.
    3. Take one of the drop kicks.
    4. Left foot volleys.
    5. Increment of fitness is not the only thing in being a better player.
    6. More communication with central defender (often I notice a camper which is unmarked - I think it's No. 23)
    7. More implementation of practice of what is learnt in training.
    8. MOTM = Jia Le
    9. Most active participant in the game.

    2. I didn't help much today I didn't really mark my guy or whatever properly.
    3. I managed to last 30 minutes.
    4. I should follow the guy (no. 23 if i'm not wrong) and not stray away from him .
    5. It was hard to last 30 minutes in the field .
    6. Call for the ball more and to move to space to give my teammate, which has the ball, more options.
    7. We should close down the opponent quicker so that he may panic and make a mistake in passing.
    8. MoTM is ODS.
    9. When he gets the ball he doesn't always clear. He plays past the opponent and provides a pass to Matthias.

    2. I felt that I had played well but I could still play better.
    3. I think I did well in commanding my defense today.
    4. I think that the team should be more aggressive down the flanks.
    5. I learnt that many players can shoot from outside the box and will do so if the defense does not close them down fast enough.
    6. I think that I could try to play the ball to the RB and LB more so they can start an attack down the flank.
    7. I think that we should really be more proactive and go for the ball and close down opponents more quickly.
    8. I think the MoTM is ODS
    9. When I played the ball to him or when he gets the ball, he will always try to make an attempt to attack down the flank with the help of Matthias.

  4. 1. 4
    2. All I did was pressuring. When I do get the ball, it will always get to the opponent one way or another.
    3. I don't think I have performed well.
    4. I think I should improve on my heading, tackling, positioning, control and passing.
    5. I learnt that it is important to go towards the ball and close down the opponents. I also learnt it is important to find space to pass, and be more composed when the ball is in possession.
    6. I can try to ask for the ball, or I can encourage my team-mates.
    7. We can close down our opponents quickly and defend as a unit.
    8. The MOTM will be Niklaus.
    9. He made the effort to help the LB when the opponent is going down the flank. He also made some vital clearances to keep us in the game.

  5. 1. I rate myself an 8 for today.

    2. I've done better than in tournament matches and as captain, I felt that I have done a good job keeping the morale of the team up. I've also defended fairly well, clearing 2 corners and also tracking back to close down the player with the ball, though not all the time.

    3. I communicated a lot more with the team, and I also often drop to different positions to provide support or just cover for that player. I've also put in a few good tackles and kept the pressure to prevent passes and shots.

    4. I still panic a little when I am challenged, so I have to learn to keep calm. The last thing a team needs is their captain panicking during the match and under-performing.

    5. I learnt that as a CM, I have to have very very god stamina so that I can push up and support when attacking, and drop back to defend a lot during the game. Often, I find myself pushing up to attack, but not dropping back to defend after losing the ball.

    6. As captain, I could initiate more training, especially on passing and possession. Also, I have to improve on my on-the-spot judgement. Often, when I can dribble past the player, I choose to pass instead and end up losing the ball.

    7. Communication has improved greatly from during the tournament, but it can still be better. Also, the players have to learn to be more confident with the ball. Often when the pass is played, some players wait for the ball, some don't control it well enough, some just panic. In a game this can lead to goals. I'm not saying that I'm not like that, a few times I find myself making those mistakes as well. Also, even though we attempted possession, we can definitely do better.

    8. To me, everyone has played well. There isn't a player I can name as MOTM. I can see that everyone has done their best in their positions, and some even did well out of position. However, some players (I won't name who, you know who you are) have to improve on their fitness, as it will really help improve their game.

  6. 1) 4
    2) I was unable to react quickly and could not do well in intercepting and anticipation
    3) Perhaps today's passing was better.
    4) I should improve on my decision making D:
    5) I learnt that it is important to takle someone in the midst of getting a ball. I wanted to try sliding, but I have no experience therefore no confidence. I doubt I have the aim as well.
    6) I could have better ball control.
    7) I thought we did well. Only that they were better in crossing.
    8) MOTM would be Mr Phua :D
    9) He made effort to block the goal, I advise him to shout louder.

  7. 1. Rate your performance today from 1 to 10 - 3
    2. Explain your rating - I had little control of the ball and also lost it sometimes
    3. What did you think you do well today? - I think that my marking was better
    4. What do you think should be improved? - I think that my ball control should be improved as i constantly lost it to the opponent
    5. What lesson did you learn today? - I learnt that ball control is important and this thus will drastically improve gameplay
6.How can you help the team to improve? - I could have done some passing
    7. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve? - They can have a more effective communication system
    8. Who do you think is the man of the match today? - Sean Phua
    9. Explain your answer in 8 - He has made an effort to block alot of goals today and thus was a very determined person

    7.

    2. Explain your rating

I did some interceptions and some closing down. I also passed better.

    3. What did you think you do well today?

    Passing, defending and intercepting

    4. What do you think should be improved?

more passing and communication. Try to pass an early ball.

    5. What lesson did you learn today?

    Passing game is very important

6.How can you help the team to improve?

    contributing to more passes

    7. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?

We should play more of a passing game. Some of us should work on their passing as they do not pass so well and they do not have ball control.

    8. Who do you think is the man of the match today?

    Sean

    9. Explain your answer in 8

he did a really great job in saving all the shots. Without his stability, we would have lost the match even badly

  10. 1. 2
    2. I did not go for the ball. I was not marking my man properly.
    3. I think my one and only clearance could have been better; I could have cleared it further and higher.
    4. I feel that I should go for the ball more often if possible and that I need to learn who I have to cover-up for when needed and where I should move to in order to cover-up for him.
    5. I learnt that as a defender, I should try to be able to put pressure on strikers and that I should recover fast after I tackle.
    6. I could have moved more responsively and attack the ball instead of waiting for the ball to come towards me.
    7. I think that we can develop a way to communicate without speaking so we will know what our team members want to do or want us to do without letting the opponents know.
    8. I think that Matthias, Ding Shan, and Sean.
    9. Matthias and Ding Shan had that x-factor when playing on the right flank and performed exceedingly well. They could play very well without much communication so they were in 'harmony' without 'letting' the opponents know their 'plan'. Sean did not give up on our defence even though it was not up-to-standard with the opponent strikers' in fact, he pushed himself even harder to make up for that lack of 'standard' and that was very inspiring.

  11. 1. 6/10 (as a spectator)
    2. Explain your rating
    3. I supported and encouraged the team by continuously cheering on even during times when players seemed to have given up. I also helped in communicating ideas to teammates when teammates on the pitch are not communicating.
    4. I should improve on recognising the time to go for the ball instead of going for unnecessary risks which result in injury. :\
    5. I learnt that we should be observant enough to spot the gaps/mistakes in the game fast enough (like we did) and find out what are causing those 'gaps' and preventing us from our goal (i.e. strategy, technique etc.). This can quickly help us to identify what we are weaker at (eg. the mistakes in defender-midfielder distance today) and hence help us to improve fast as a team.
    6. I can help by encouraging team members to be more focused during regular training, instead of treating everything as jokes.
    7. We can work on bringing the ball up, as I noticed that some players have focused too much on just defending and bringing the ball away from the goal, but what happens after getting the ball is that they don't know how to bring the ball forward; from this perspective, we can focus more on our confidence in the attack and bringing the ball upfront. There are also other players (especially in defense) who need to learn how and when to go for the ball, as it is observed that the defence stayed in one line and kept on moving backwards even when the opponents forwards are already moving very close towards the goal; basically, in other words, we need to work more on pressure from this perspective. And most importantly, we have to work on communication. As it has been quite some time since our last matches, quite a number of players have lacked about the communication part during today's match. This has hence also affected support play as well, causing the disadvantage in attack.
    8. Sean Phua
    9. Though with some mistakes, the following can explain the question regarding Q8:
    (i) Awesome save no. 1; manages to catch a fast rolling ball
(ii) Awesome save no. 2; manages to deflect a high ball out just at the right time
(iii) Comes out to intercept ball from opponent when ball has passed all defenders.

    I think i got a 7 or a 6
    2. Explain your rating
Today the defense was let down by my misjudgment, especially in the first third. Also could have better over the ball
    3. What did you think you do well today?
I think i did a good job in saving some balls and playing aggressive
    4. What do you think should be improved?
I have to keep a watch on my filing against the opponents. This way i would prevent a penalty or in-direct free kick.
    5. What lesson did you learn today?
I learnt that the defense have to be able to make use of the off-side rule to reduce the amount of space the opponents have to play.
6.How can you help the team to improve?
I can help by commanding and communicating the team to the correct positions. Also in our corner kick, i have to look out for other team players to have the correct man marked, to prevent a scoring opportunity for the opponent
    7. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
I think the team can definitely play more supportive of the other players. Also being more aggressive can help maintain and regain possession of the balls from the other player.
    8. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Seah
    9. Explain your answer in 8
He definitely did a brilliant in being a defender and goal keeper. Add that to the wonder saves and you got your MOMT

2 - I think i have let the guy pass me too many times and I do not have the stamina to stop him.
3 - I think I did a good job in being the pole man and clearing the ball.
4 - I have to improve my stamina and improve my alertness.
5 - I learnt that in oder to win the defense has to prevent crosses and frequently use the off side trap.
6 - I think I can help by communicating more often and understand the roles of certain positions.
7 - i think the team should play more aggressive and maintain possession of the ball.
    8 - Sean
9 - He played a fantastic role as the goal keeper and managed to make many wonderful saves.

  14. 1 - 4
2 - I was obviously blur and could not do a good pass throughout the match. I was also playing to far in front when the defense needs my help.
3 - Not much. its only the block I made when their no.2 was trying to cross
4 - I should improve on my passes and dribbling
5 - I have learnt that even when in training your confident. Out there its a way different story
6 - I can helo by supporting the defense
    7 - Positioning
8 - jia le, ODS and Sean
9 - jia le- he did a grand job supporting both the defense and attach, ODS swiftly brought the ball towards the front and as for sean, everybody knows why

    1) I rate myself 7.

2,3,4) I manage to pass after controlling high balls, and I compete for headers and move towards the direction of the goalkicks. I also manage to shield the ball although no support arrived and earned a free kick as a result. I also compete for a shot even though I know its a 10-90 kinda of chance. I was also the one that shouted the most.
I feel that I need to stay and play in my position. I also have to learn to look up after receiving the ball and play it forward instead of always turning and going backwards. I must also learn how to pass thru narrow places and how to support faster. My first touch was also dreaded.

    5) I learn how to stay in my position in the third quarter after observing the match in the seconds quarter. I also learn that jumping for headers although it is never possible to get it will instill fear in the defenders as found out in the third quarter. I also learn how to communicate with my aide in midfield, and switch and overlap within the center as well.

    6) I must ask Darius to stay in his position because it is confusing when he comes to my position and I do not know if I want to move or not. I must also cover more and not keep attacking to prevent an even more empty hole in the central midfield.

    7) We must compete for headers, and not go out of position. These 2 factors killed us today.

    8) Adil

    9) I thought he did a wonderful job as the target man and he manages to stay up there and tackle the midfielders as well. He was also the only one not to play out of position, but that's because he's the targetman as well.

However, I also think the team did well although some of the people in the 2nd quarter and 3rd quarter did not take the match seriously at all. I can also sense from the spectator area that some of you guys started to play a little dirty and some of you played a little too relax in the 2nd quarter. You know who you are.

    1. 6
    2. Overall, I have improved compared to the other matches. However, I never did manage to bring up the ball from the defensive line. That somehow proves that I need to work on my control. Still talkative, as normal.
    3. I did well in, last minute interceptions. Without the cover of the others, I do not think that was possible.
    4. I have to improve on holding the ball and ball control so the gk has more options when starting the play.
    5. Communication is Key. Without the cover from the other backs, we would have conceded more.
    6. Talk moar, if the team gets to know one another more, we can understand and thus create bonds between the different lines.
    7. Sean Phua
    8. He made many good saves and was solid through the game. (MLG Pro)

    2. Explain your rating
Even though i managed to clear to ball a couple of times, I let the defenders past me. I also did not chase after the balls when i had the opportunity as i had hesitated and though my friends would get it instead. I had a few fail passes too and did not listen to my friends.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
I think that i was able to bring the ball upwards a few times to the mid fielders. I also called for support when I was going front.

    4. What do you think should be improved?
I need to improve on my bal control and passing. I should also learn to stick in my position. I need to learn to be less hesitant and go for the ball.

    5. What lesson did you learn today?
We should not wait for the ball to come to us, and we should go for the ball no matter if it is a high ball or low ball. It is not easy to play for the whole match, hence we should have the mindset to never give up.

6.How can you help the team to improve?
I should work on my basic ball skills and stamina. I also should learn how to play on different positions of the team and work with all my teammates and trust all of them.

    7. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
We should all communicate more. We also need to learn how to support one another. Lastly we need to be more aggressive .
    8. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Sean

    9. Explain your answer in 8
He made many saves today, even though he let in a few balls some of the saves were spectacular and hard to get.

  18. 1. 8

    2. I have improved on quite a few aspects compared to the games I have played during the tournament.

    3. I was able to watch the danger man and spread out the defense of the opponent by playing at the side.

    4. I think I should improve on my ball control.

    5. I learn that you must be an active player in order to learn and practice your skills appropriately.

    6. I can be more supportive to people who make mistakes instead of scolding them or putting the blame on them.

    7. I think the team should be more bonded and understand each other's doings and act accordingly.

    8. Sean Phua

    9. I can see him doing his best in trying to save the ball that were shot, he also managed execute many good saves.

  19. 1) I would rate myself 7.3.

    2) I had the opportunity to play goalkeeper for the first time in a competitive match. This was a good exposure for me as I realised it is actually not an easy job being one.

    3) I managed to try out the passing method from the back and opened up space at the flanks with high through balls.

    4) Sticking to my position and not over-running. Also competing for headers + towards the direction I want.

    5) It is important for us to stick together and move around as a team, and not leave a big gap anywhere.

    6) As a vice-captain, I cannot be demoralised after making either a mistake or conceding a goal. I need to be more supportive of my teammates and encourage them to be more confident on the ball.

    7) Defend as a team, attack as a team.

    8) Darius Low.

    9) His enthusiasm in the first 2 thirds were crucial to the team as he was the one initiating runs and passes from the midfield.

  20. 1. I would rate myself a 7.

    2. I generally help my stand and did quite well, however did not put into use some of the practices taught during training.

    3. I think I did well during the second quarter as a midfielder. I managed to mark the person I was supposed to effectively and I was on my feet during the game. I felt that I also did a good job communicating and working with the right defender (Rayner).

    4. I think that I should improve on how to more efficiently go for the ball especially during this game where the opponents were good at heading. I also feel that I should learn how to take on more roles as a striker or defender as I was rather at a loss of what to do when I was the striker.

    5. I learnt it is important to work as a team. Even though the other team obviously had better skills, we could still have good team work to pose a greater challenge to them.

    6. I can help the team improve by being able to play as a striker or defender. As currently, my sole role is a midfielder and I not too good at other positions.

    7. I think that the team should work on how to more efficiently go for the ball (especially high balls). In this game, the high balls were always taken over possession by the other team and our team members were rather weak in heading and going for the ball.

    8. Sean

    9. He did well in goal keeping during this match, making some good saves. Also, in the last quater, he learnt to do a variety of goal kicks (passing to the defenders or playing it wide) which he did rather well.

    2. I tired out fast.My stamina was not there.Even coach said it.Enough Said
    3. I supported ODS quite often, enabling him to pass the ball to me and cause an attack, although it did not work as how we wanted to.
    4. Stamina.
    5. I can help by always supporting other teammates.
    6. The team must learn how to pressure the opponents by pushing up.This way we can get more space to pass around too.
    7. More implementation of practice of what is learnt in training.
    8. MOTM = Jia Le
    9. He played almost the entire game, and he took over other people position when they were out of their position.

I did not have enough stamina and I should have been fouled many times.
    3. What did you think you do well today?
    I think I
    4. What do you think should be improved?
    5. What lesson did you learn today?
6.How can you help the team to improve?
    7. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
I think we need to improve on our defense. At the match at St pats we had to do a lot of defending and could not attack
    8. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Sean Phua
    9. Explain your answer in 8
Sean managed to block many excellent shots made by St pats and co-ordinated the defense very well.

    2. Explain your rating
I feel that i didn't make any wrong moves, the only thing that make me don't have a 10 is the fact that i opened my legs too big when i was defending, letting the opponent ole me.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
Throw ins, i did well, the ball were always well received by the team mates.
My passing was well too, despite the fact i manage to get the ball 4 or 5 times only, i managed to pass them to the correct person

    4. What do you think should be improved?
Most probably my defensive stance, i opened my legs to big which allow the opponent to ole me.

    5. What lesson did you learn today?
    Teamwork, never say die.
Despite the fact that we were always the weaker team, we kept on encouraging each other and the defense side when i was on had good communication between each other. When we concede a goal, we would encourage each other and never say die.

6.How can you help the team to improve?
I should tell players who are joking during regualar training to focus as what we do in training is good for us, if we don't focus, then what's the use of training?

    7. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
I feel that some team members don't have the fitness even though they have the technique. Therefore, the team should find some time every week or maybe once per 2 weeks, just to go out to the nearby canal for a run.

    8. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Jia Le

    9. Explain your answer in 8
He was constantly running around supporting the attack and defense, i can tell he was tired, however, he never gave up and continue to chase the ball when he lost it. Instead of solo-ing, he tried his best to look out for a better option to pass this time.

    ReplyDelete
  24. 1. I would give myself a 6-6.5
    2. Well, as a striker, I managed to attack along with some help of the wingers and the midfielders, but I did miss one opportunity to head a ball in the penalty box and also I lost a ball to the defenders a few times.
    3. My control, and passing, I guess. I did receive a few high balls from Sean properly.
    4. I should work on my speed as it is very essential to strikers in order to escape man-marking from the defenders.
    5. I learnt that every striker have to collaborate with the wingers at least once in every match.
    6. I could help the team to improve by communicating more, as I tried to communicate as silent as possible, to be able to get away from the defenders and avoid getting marked.
    7. Have more communication and better passing options.
    8. I believe that I am not in any position to say that, but if I could choose one, it would be Mitchel.
    9. As our team was defending most of the time, and I was a striker, I did try to defend, but as the ball got closer I went back to my position, and whenever I watch our defenders defend, I did see some significant defending by people like ODS, but Mitchel still has the determination to defend his space.

    2) i didn't play so i can't tell about my performance. But if I had played, my reflexes would not have been as good as the Sec 2 goalkeeper.
3)i didn't play sorry..But I think I did well to at least be there to give my support.
    4) i believe that there should be more passing within the team and more teamwork so that we can achieve possession and try to score a goal.and brandon should work on his control as he could have tried to get past the defender and try and score.
5)i learnt that teamwork is very important in all games and we can tell that the team needs to bond more.
    6) we need to improve on our stamina and work on our passing. As the goalkeeper, I think I would need to train more as practice makes perfect.
7)as a team i believe that we should learn how to control the balls better. For example, when it comes to high balls, we do not appear to control the ball with agility and skillfulness. As a result, the opponent would take advantage of our weakness which I thought was very evident.
8)i think jia le or darius is the man of the match.
    9) jia le managed to help the defence and at the same time help to attack, help to gain possession but i believe he should learn how to pass to keep up possession. As for darius, he played a major role in the centre controlling the players and the situation. I thought that was very well done.

    2. Was able to defend well and not allow the ball to get pass me. The deduction of marks as I only played 1 half as the next day I and a grading and did not want to get injured. Plus my shoe broke D: Actually I wanted to play more but coach didn't allow.Well he has my interest at heart though.
    3. I think that i communicated well with the other defenders,to push up, to mark people. to give advice and to tell them where they should be. Even when I was not playing, I would be shouting at people to tell them what to do.
    4. Communication in the team. I know a lot of people are writing about how well they communicated but it is seriously not present at all. How to cover for one another, overlaping, support, man on, no one is shouting at all. The best excuse, I don't want the opponent team to hear. -_-
    5. To bring another pair of boots, Joking :P but more of being prepared?
6.Help to train the defence. From what I can see, people are scared to defend and are running out of place. One thing too, if the ball is in the center, do you still stay at the flanks? Something to think about.
7.Helping each other. We are a TEAM and soccer is a TEAM sport. So all of you better jollywell communicate and help each other. Giving excuses on having SA (Situational Awareness) it totally unacceptable. Help others, help the TEAM.

    9. He did many good saves and communicated with me very efficiently. Telling me who to mark and what he wants me to do.
