  1. 1. Rate your performance today from 1 to 10
    I rate myself 6.

    2. Explain your rating
I think I did quite well in latching on to the first volley, which the goalkeeper saved. I also tried to took shots and go in for challenges, where the ball hit the woodwork in the scenario I described. However, I was not composed and didn't know what to do when I got the ball because I was up against 4 defenders with no support, so I just tried to out-dribble them instead of passing. I also feel that I should have shot earlier on my second through ball but I didn't have confidence there and I did not anticipate that a sliding tackle will come in since there was no body contact during the time when I was dribbling.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
I think I played better using Coach Tan tactics because I stayed in between the 2 center backs, even though my teammates were usually hesitant to do a through ball when I asked for it. But most importantly in this match I feel that I made the correct judgements in my opinion.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I think I applied what I have learned in training because I just took a shot whenever I am open. I also didn't move out of position, which is really a big achievement for me because now I just have to move into space quicker to have a better sight on goal.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
I think as a team we cannot be so selfish, especially when there are times where people over dribbled and just refuse to pass even though the guy was shouting for the ball (not through balls though, normal passing). This is really dangerous as the mistakes caused obviously can be prevented. I also feel that our support play must really be more responsive because when I got the ball I see nobody, and I really mean nobody moving at all. (in the 1st half, on one occasion only) Last but not least, we also have to pass more often. I need people to pass immediately when the defender marking me moves out of position because there were a lot of times that we could have done that and maybe I would have gotten a goal or 2 goals or a hat-trick or double hat-trick or triple hat trick or 100 goals (you get my point).

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Fitness is very important, and in most matches, the strikers may only get 1 chance in the match, so the finishing is really important because chances are hard to come by.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Overall, we faded during the last 15 minutes of each half because the HCIS just keeps bombarding us with shots, and they are smart to attack from the right (gk's view) because Darius isn't as physical as Niklaus.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
    Improve my finishing, dragging.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
Improve fitness and communication. Even though HCIS were having trouble communicating in the same language due to their nationalities, they tried, which I must commend them for :)

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    I think it was Niklaus.

    11. Explain your answer in 10
He won every single ball (I think) and passes it on to Matthias to supply the passes to me. ASIAN SWAG!

    2. Explain your rating

I did not make any good passes and i always get cut down by the defender.

    3. What did you think you do well today?

I tried communicating with the team more often.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?

I have applied the skill where you control with your left and push it to the right technique

    5. What do you think should be improved?

    Fitness.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?

Team spirit is important. As we were on high spirits today we did not lose faith.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?

I think we had a great defense today as they managed to keep the ball away from the goal as much as possible

    8. How can you help the team to improve?

I think we should communicate more as some of the people did not really communicate and clump up together.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?

The team can work on their setplay and stuff so that we know what to do when we have possession.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?

    ODS.

    11. Explain your answer in 10

He did a great job in the first half & the second half running back and forth to defend and trying to break thru the opponent's defense

    3) Hmmm... I think I played a part in cheering on the team?
    4) -
    5) Perhaps the communications, because there were one or two miscommunications that led to two wasted passes that could end up as chances.
    6) Perhaps to play play the game at our 101%.
    7) In the defense, where there were many good tackles and at the attack, in which the players almost scored many times
    8) -
    9) -
    10) Mitchell, Jia Le, Wen Kai or Matthias. But Wen Kai was probably the most worthy.
    11) Mitchell both defended and aided the attack well despite being injured. Jia Le made four crucial and important saves and it made a huge difference. Wen Kai worked very hard convert chances and was desperate to play for the team when he was injured. Matthias passed well and I feel he was the playmaker throughout the time he played and passed to the strikers in which the strikers occasionally broke free.

    4 i guess :/

    2. Explain your rating

Most of the time i am out of position and i was confused what to do and where to do. Control of high ball isn't my forte as well.

    3. What did you think you do well today?

    Cuting the defense line?

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?

No, I didn't try to cross the ball.

    5. What do you think should be improved?

long pass, control of high ball

    6. What lesson did you learn today?

I think i did well in possesing the ball for 5 sec :P

    7. Do you think the team did well today?

Yea~ they sure was trying hard.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?

I can help by improving speed and such :<

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?

I think the attack have to improve.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?

    The spectators.

    11. Explain your answer in 10

I was running up and down for them :P

    5) The overall communication and the effort, I know the players are tired but they still should give their best at every point of the game especially when there are chances to score. They should have chased every ball down and maybe improved on their fitness.
    6) communication is a crucial part of the game. Without communication, the whole game would be like the first half, sloppy passes leading to wasted chances which really should not be the case.
    7) The team very well in defending and goal keeping.
    8) -
    9) The team could have a chance to play more with each other, like Darius said, to gel together and to be familiarized with each others style of play. The team could also engage in tougher physical training so they can strengthen their body as well as their bonds with each other through thick and thin as an SST family.
    10a) Jia Le
He is a good goalkeeper with a great judgment that has helped him save many shots that could have led to goals. He is also daring enough to come out of the box in the first half to challenge a striker. He also picked himself up and go on with the match despite having a skin abrasion.
    10b) Niklaus
He is a fast and strong defender that would challenge everyone with the best he can. He is a good example for future potential SST soccer defenders.
(I am sorry if I did not mention your name. It is because I do not know your name.)

Overall everyone did their best. Good job and keep up the good work.
    GO SST SOCCER!!!

  8. 1. Rate your performance today from 1 to 10
    I will rate myself 3.

    2. Explain your rating
Although I made two successful passes out of two, there were times when I felt that I could have been more confident on the ball. I was too hesitant at times, even when I was defending.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
As mentioned, I felt that my passing was fairly well down, and that I did quite well (to a certain extent) nullifying the threat down their left flank.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I have applied what I learnt in training, once of which is to move towards the ball instead of waiting, and just ball-watching.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
I can improve on my fitness to go on more lung-bursting runs, as well as my confidence when I am in possession of the ball.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
It is important to prevent the opponents from playing their usual game, and that it will force them to commit unnecessary mistakes which might go in our favor.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
I think that we did very well today, defending as a unit most of times, as well as mustering a few good attacks which might have led to a goal or two. It can be considered as one of our better matches so far this year.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
I can improve on my weaknesses so that I can help the team to progress as a collective together.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
We can encourage one another during the match to spur each other on, and we can also practice more together whenever possible to promote team spirit.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
The MOTM will be Jia Le.

    11. Explain your answer in 10.
He repeatedly placed his body on the line to deny the opponents of chances to score. Despite sustaining several injuries in the match, he continued to play on until we saw off the game at 0-0.

    2. Explain your rating

There were times which i was out of position. However, there were times i managed to keep my composure and look for options before i pass. I also managed to intercept some supposed-to-be-through balls. However, i failed to convert a direct free kick from approximately 30m away.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
Keeping my composure most of the time, intercepting balls that were supposed to go through the defence.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
Yes, during the free kick, i locked my ankle and aimed for the bottom of the ball to let the ball float pass the wall.
    5. What do you think should be improved?
My accuracy and positioning. It was a golden opportunity for my free-kick yet i failed to convert it, i could actually lead us to the first victory. At times my positioning wasn't that good, even though i know there were defenders behind me, it's hard for me to predict where they were going to run.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Warming up must be done well, looking at the number of cramps and injuries, we didn't stretch properly.
Fitness is still a problem, at the start of the game, we could attack and defend as a team, but as the end of each half nears, we started falling apart.
    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Yes, although it could be improved. Our mentality was very good, and i think it all boils down to the supporters! it was all because of them that we managed to keep the fighting mentality. and again, our fitness is our weakness

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
Probably encourage the team when they are tired. There's nothing to do at that point when we are tired, except to continue pushing ourselves and others.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
Train our fitness together and then practise converting defense into attack.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
While I believe all who came onto the field were good, Jia Le was exceptional. and not to forget, our AWESOME SST fans.

    11. Explain your answer in 10
Everyone tried to apply what we learn in previous games and learn from our mistakes. We kept the "never say die" attitude and the winning mentality.
Jia Le was never afraid of the ball and claimed it when it was in his zone and not to mention the awesome saves.
I believe that having the school's support felt good on many players, including me, but it gave us pressure too, it was the pressure that cause us to put up a good fight for the supporters. :)

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
I learnt that to win the game we need to be in top condition and we ust have the mindset that we stand a fair chance of winning the game.
    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Yes they did but there are still areas that can be improved.

    2. Explain your rating
During the first part of the game, I was quite distracted. Therefore, this led to a few successful attacks by the opponents attack. Luckily, I was able to regain my composure in the later part of the game. Ps to Darius about the screwed up tackle.
    3. What did you think you do well today?
I did well in pressuring the opponent players and maybe a few headers here and there.
    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I have applied what Coach had taught us in traning during one to one situations.
    5. What do you think should be improved?
I have to improve on my communication as I almost cost the team one. I need to improve on my ball control and my confidence in holding the ball.
    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Communication and Confidence are both very important in Soccer or team sports
    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Everyone was putting in their best efforts and some players even took one for the team during the match.
    8. How can you help the team to improve?
We need to communicate and call out positions or signal positions of enemy players such that the person with the ball knows when to hold or when to pump it up.
    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
Increase our fitness levels together by maybe going to the gym every now and then (if it ever opens).
    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Jia Le
    11. Explain your answer in 10
His keeping seriously stopped many of the shots that would have been goals. He achieved many beautiful saves and he had very good judgement during the match. Even though he was hurt halfway through the match, he faught on as if nothing had happened.

Other mentions are Bernard, he did many good throw-ins and had nice marking on the enemy mids.
Niklaus also had a nice game, he managed to pressure the defenders well and had many successful passes to the midfield and bringing the "rain" on the enemy defence.

Special Thanks to supporters. Even though they cant see this

    2. Explain your rating
    n/a

    3. What did you think you do well today?
    n/a

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
    n/a

    5. What do you think should be improved?
I think whenever the team attacked, there would always be matthias and wen kai passing. Most of the time, they made the wrong decision like matthias did a late through ball which could not penetrate the defence so I think the decision making when attacking should be improved for example, changing flanks instead to open up space and maybe even a shot at goal.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
I learnt that warming up is extremely important as they were 4 people who got cramps in the match which caused some of our better players (no offense) to be subbed out. If they were still in, we might have had a goal so this shows that warming can decide whether you win or lose a game.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
I think the defence did very well by keeping their composure. Most of the times, the defenders do not immediately clear when they get the ball. They look up and try to find options to start a counter attack.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
    n/a

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
I think they should communicate more as it lets your teammates to get a gist of where you are so they can pass to you in a shorter period of time. If they took too long, a player from the opposing team may come and steal the ball. This is especially important for defenders because if they lose the ball near their own goal, it may cost the team a goal.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
I think the man of the match was niklaus.

    11. Explain your answer in 10
He kept his composure whenever he is being pressured by a player from the other team. The only time he clears is when he has no choice. If not, he will try to pass to matthias down the flank to start a counter attack.

    2. In the first half, I was running up and down to support wen kai and dropping back to help defend that was until I got tired and my foot started to hurt due to a tackle. I also called for people to support and being their 'eyes'.
    3. I think that the very fact that I wanted to play, to help the team even though I was injured is something good. I also manage to get the ball, control and pass it to wen kai then ran to support him. I also shouted a lot. Asking people to cover, to mark the man behind them and asking them to push up.
    4. I think that through training, my control has been better and defensive set pieces are better (more organised but still can be improved)
    5. The support of the 2 central midfielders as when wen kai and I had the ball, they were behind, not running up to support and I a defensive midfielder ran out of position just to help him thus wasting a lot of energy running up and down.
The communication between players. Sometimes they support too close, sometimes they kick the ball at each other, causing them to lose the ball and the covering of others.
    6. Our team just has to support each other and through this way, we can win, defeating stronger players like how HCI was all bigger build then us.
    7. We managed to draw with a physically better build team and we kept more possesion.
    8. Help the weaker players train, dropping back and looking out for their man, tackling opponents bigger than them.
    9. Encourage each other and keep fighting for each other, not giving up
    10. Darius and Jia Le
    11. Darius: He did very well asking people to open out, to drop back, organising the defense. He gave very good tackle and close them down quickly as to prevent them for taking shots, making Jia Le's job easier.
Jia Le: He got injured, his finger being hit and all but still continued making great saves ( a little too action :P ) He was also not afraid of the ball and came out, making the right decision. He also gave great goalkicks and did not complain about not playing as a striker/midfielder.
Even though we did not win, we played a very good game, better performance than the ones before. Hope you guys keep this up.
We could have won haha. I FEEL LIKE WE CAN WIN JURONGVILLE :D

    2. Cannot concentrate properly. Did not eat enough, and came in with a slightly injured leg, a bruised nail, and a hungry stomach. Miracle I got out alive.
    3. I think defending today was generally better, because circumstances permitted man marking almost all the time. I had the luxury of being able to constantly mark 17, as the opponent did not make space within their left offense (striker & midfield).
    4. The part about man marking from 1.5 arms length away? Yes.
    5. What could have been improved is spatial awareness. There were times where an extra man (forgot position) was camping behind me near the penalty box. Did not notice that until he called out.
    6. If it's one thing I learnt, it's that defending from a distance to a man is easier than being directly beside him, because of the turns.
    7. The team did very well today, and it is commendable that the team was probably at its best performance so far.
8&9. The midfield needs to compact, like the defenders. Though communication on the field was visibly better this time, sometimes, freak shots at the goals were made available from the midfield because of open spaces (in a brief period of time). This is where we should be communicating with the midfield to place them in position (slightly lesser communication across ranks)
    10. I would commend that everyone was the MOTM in their own sense.
    11. The team generally did all they could, and fought hard.

I stayed back even though I was ill and helped by supporting the team and cheering for them as well as helping to take care of the injured who were subbed out e.g. refill their water bottles and etc.
    3. What did you think you do well today?
I supported the team outside the field.
    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
    Yes, regarding team spirit.
    5. What do you think should be improved?
We need to not have any collision within ourselves. There were one or two very dangerous situations where our own players tackle our own team and blocked the clear. There needs to be more communication, it was a quite game. And we need to work on our stamina as well as physical fitness(e.g. physical health, not falling ill easily like me)
    6. What lesson did you learn today?
When everyone plays their individual role, we play well as a team. Formation is key when one person is out of formation or fails, the whole team suffers as the momentum is disrupted and people start to get confused. When the midfield and defense compact it's a very good defensive wall as well as offensive as once the defenders gain possession again, they can have an easier transition to the midfield to attack as the midfielders are closer and defenders need not go past the opposing team(as when we are not compact, the other team have MUCH space in between defense and midfield) to pass the ball. Also the midfielders can help the defenders by covering for them when in need.
    7. Do you think the team did well today?
YES VERY WELL! The defense worked very well and pumped the ball forward to the attack efficiently and effectively. Our counter-attack was good and we should'vh scored goals.
Yes. We held a clean sheet and had various attempts at goal too.
    8. How can you help the team to improve?
    By doing my part.
    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
    Compact and communicate.
    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Jia Le
    11. Explain your answer in 10
He made many great saves. Without him I think we could'vh lost like at least 3-0. He really went all out to save goals. He also made many great judgements and continued even though he was injured.

There are a few who we should also mention. Like ODS who was able to gain the ball and beat a few midfielders and had a few good passes. He made key assists too. There was also defenders like Niklaus and Darius whom made a strong center back wall. Bernard too had made much improvements like Eugene and executed a few good throw-ins and tackles.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 1) I would rate myself 7.8

    2) I had better judgement this match and was daring enough to challenge during one-on-one situations. However, some of my goalkicks and dropkicks were not up to standard.

    3) I made 4 noticeable saves that helped the team clinch a clean sheet. I covered most of the angle during one-on-one situations and communicated well with the defenders.

    4) As a goalkeeper, not all. Some of my goalkicks still went to the center circle when it should have gone to the touchline. I followed some of the tips Coach Peikang gave me when defending set-pieces especially corners, such keeping a lookout for dangerous runs into the 6 yard box and claiming any balls within my reach.

    5) Positioning. When given a position, stick to it. If you want to cover/swap or do anything that involves you leaving your position, COMMUNICATE. Many of times during the match, we were stuck in our own halves/struggling to attack as there is NO ONE supporting Wen Kai upfront. Thus, it boils down to fitness.

    6) Support is very important, in both ways. The spectators really played a huge role in boosting our confidence and morale. Also, we need to support whoever's upfront so that we can SCORE.

    7) In a way, yes. In another sense, definitely not. A lot of players are still not controlling high balls properly and their first touches are horrible. We need to be daring to make a through pass and decision making is important. However, kudos to the team who kept their spirits high and kept the scoreline at 0-0.

    8) As a vice-captain, I shall not be demoralised whenever I concede (touch wood) a goal. Instead, work together with Darius and pick the team up.

    9) Be a captain of yourself. A leader of the team. A player for the school.

    10) Niklaus.

    11) He managed to subdue the angmor's threat and assisted Bryan at the left flank when defending. Also, he made the effort to send high balls to the midfield and picked out Matthias on many occasions. He pressed to play on even though he suffered cramps during the second half. SWAG.

Matthias, Darius and Elgin Low deserves praise for this match too. Matthias utilises his speed down the left and tried his best to supply through balls to Wen Kai. Darius was solid as a defender and made crucial blocks/clearances during the first half. In the second, he added creativity to the midfield and gave his all. Elgin Low was exceptionally solid too at right back as he managed to prevent the left winger from passing him on many occasions during the second half. However he still needs to work on his judgement for high balls and passing.

  17. 1. I rate my performance today a 6.8

    2. I went into the game with a strong mentality. I felt that I put in at least 85% of my effort during the entire time I played. I felt that I had kept my composure throughout the game and tried my best to win most of the balls that were directed to me. I also felt that this was one of the game that I kept my focus on the most.

    3. I think what I did well was that I was able to header and aggressively challenge the opponents although I was being guarded very tightly by them. I also felt that I made a couple of good decisions and managed to attack and defend at the best of my ability.

    4. I did apply skills such as pressuring when the defenders when they had the ball and I tried my best to get possession of the and make passes to the striker.

    5. What I was lacking during this game was proper communication with the strikers as I was the left winger and I should be working together with them.

    6. I have learnt that I am more comfortable playing as a winger or a midfielder however I am not comfortable with crossing or dribbling the ball towards the strikers.

    7. I think the team did well in defence as they worked together to keep their defence strong and most of the time they were able to clear the ball well.

    8. I should train on how I can more properly communicate with the attackers and work harder on trying to dribble the ball to pass the defenders.

    9. I think the team should learn to communicate more during play, especially the attackers as we were relatively quiet during the gameplay.

    10. I think that everyone played rather well as this was the first time playing a friendly in our school field and we were pumped up to do the school proud. I feel that Jia Le should be the MOTM.

    11. Jia Le, as the goal keeper did excellently well during the match and he made a couple of commendable saves during the match if not we could have lost without him.

I attacked many times and it feels really great to be able to do that. The cheers and the team feel made me feel much more confident in my abilities and able to do what i wanted to.
    3. What did you think you do well today?
I dribbled better, even if the reason might be because the opponents is weaker..I still feel that i did well.
    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I passed from a flank to another. For example,if wen kai was heavily marked and my path was blocked,I would cross the ball over to ODS and let him attacked from there.Which occasianlly worked well.
    5. What do you think should be improved?
My dribbling in 1-(x=>1) situations.I could dribble pass two players sometimes but i will eventually be blocked or the ball would be cleared.
    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Judging the timing of a through pass is extremely important to be just nice between offside and a late ball.
    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Passing to counter attack. When niklaus won the ball,he managed to pass to me and allowed me to attack and bring the team forward from my position.
    8. How can you help the team to improve?
Being in "sync" with the striker whoever it will be.I need to pass a nice and good thru ball for him to get and 1-1 with the keeper if possible.
    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
Our attacking flow have to be smoother. When i got the ball, the only support i have is wenkai, which is heavily marked,Bryan behind me and ODS at the other end of the pitch. The CM should come support me too.
    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Jia Le
    Niklaus
Me(for the first 30 mins or so only)
    11. Explain your answer in 10
I dont understand how he could perform so well as a keeper.I dont know if its his luck or skills but either way,he did a brillant job in keeping a clean sheet.Honestly, without him,the score might have been 3-0 or so.Hence He is the MOTM for the whole match even tho he got injured.

As for me,in short,i am extremely happy with my performance.BUT
    1)i can do better
2)I got dizzy and tired from around the 30 mins onward and had to ask coach to sub me out at the 40th min.I deeply regret this decision.
3)I cannot be complacent or too happy.I still have to work harder and harder.

    2. Explain your rating
I think that I did well as a defender for the match, as i managed to use most of the techniques i was taught during training (with a little helped from the team and coaches of course). Even though I did well, there were a few times where I immediately cleared the ball as soon as I got it, even though i was specifically told to control and not clear it as soon as it can into my possession. However, I am glad that i was able to give my best effort, and will try to give my 100>% effort in every match from now.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
I managed to close the attackers down quickly when they got into possession of the ball and I closed them down fast most of the times.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I have applied most of the techniques I learnt in training, such as proper throw-in and man to man mucking techniques. However there were times where I was unsure of what to do, and upon reflecting on them after the match I realized that I knew some of the skills I should have used, but I had forgotten them during the match.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
Definitely our fitness, as almost none of us are fully able to withstand the whole 80 minutes running. Also, I need to better understand my roles as a defender and know my positioning well in order to fully benefit the team.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Fitness is key, and we should all improve on it to progress as a team. Our basic football skills should be perfected too. We also need to improve communication, as during the match there were times where we were all silent. We also need to pressure the offensive team more, as I feel that we are a bit too relaxed and give them small windows of opportunities at times to weave through our defenses as we were not agressive enough with them.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Definitely, as this was one of the better matches played by our team. It was also evident that everyone managed to keep the "never-say-die" attitude during the entire match. However, there are also many issues to solve in our team, such as improving our fitness levels.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
We should continue to give support to one another as a team, even if we are losing by a huge margin. We should also be more versatile and be exposed to more postions of the team that we are not put in very often (coming out of our comfort zone) We could also train an additional keeper as our current keepers are more suited for offensive rolls (Wen Kai and Jia le)

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
We should have more physically training as a team to improve our overall fitness together. We also need to practice offensive drills more, as we could tell from the match, our team was partially confused when playing offensive as we normally played defensive in our average tournament matches. So, when we were given opportunities to played offensive we were inexperienced.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
Definitely Jia le was performing excellently, however I think the biggest contributor to our success would have to be the fans that watched our match and cheered us on (also guest star Coach Tan)

    11. Explain your answer in 10
Jia le was in good form throughout most of the match and executed many brilliant saves during the match. I believe if he performed even a little bit lesser, we would have conceded a goal. Also, to all our schoolmates that went to watch the match and gave us moral support, I believe that the belief and pressure you instilled in us helped us all the give our best efforts. Thank you all :D

2)I was put in in the late 2nd half and i feel that i had not enough of a contribution
3)I managed to be in position sometimes and also receptive to communication
4)I feel that I applied some training methods into the match
5)I believe that fitness is a key thing
6)I think that my reaction time and also my fitness should be improved so as to be a better player
7)The team did well during that day as despite the multiple cramps and injures we had today,we still managed to strive on
8)From this match...due to the increased amount of support we had,we had done significantly better. We should definitely be more supportive of each other
9)We can do some fitness training along with fast break training as this would give us a better counter attack
    10)Jia Le.
11)He has many saved many would-be goals and thus kept the score at a 0-0 standstill

7, I think i did fairly well in the match, better than the previous one but definitely still have much more room for improvement. I think i put in almost hundred percent effort, chasing the ball and going towards it instead of waiting for it to come to me, challenging and putting pressure on the opponents. I also tried my best to stay in position this time instead of dropping back but i can improve on this as there are times where i strayed away and did not put pressure on the defense. I feel i have a lot to learn regarding the role of a striker as i have not really played this position in a match and may misunderstand its purpose and hence be out of position at times. I could also have been at better positions when we were in possession of the ball and communicate with my teammates more often. I think I should also be more aware of my teammates position so when I get the ball I will be able to make decisions as to pass or run forward as there are times where I can’t really make up my mind. I should also improve on my ball control when receiving a high or fast ball. As for what I have learnt in training, I think I have applied it pretty well such as approaching the person in possession of the ball with the right defensive stance, dribbling and stuff like this but have not really applied what I have learnt when it comes to ball control. I learnt today that it is important for us to stretch more to prevent cramps :P as well putting pressure on the opponents is important although you know you might not win the ball as it might cause them to make mistakes which was what happened once or twice. I think the team did well today as we gave in our hundred percent effort when it came to chasing the opponents down, moving towards the ball etc. I think we can do better when it comes to communication and positioning as I feel we could have done better with the right communication and positioning, making it harder for the opponents to get the ball and even increasing the chances of us scoring. I feel that I can help the team improve by being in the right position as I think there we times in the match where I was out of the position and a bit lost. Finally I think the man of the match of ODS. Despite him being out of position at times and losing the ball, I feel he gave all his effort, chasing the ball, tackling and he was clearly committed to the game. He clearly did his best.

I'll rate it 6/10 in overall (though it dropped to 4/10 during the last 10 minutes of the first half.)

    2. Explain your rating
I think I was quite pumped up before the match started and wasted quite a fair amount of energy running before the first half. Though I made a number of runs down the flank during the first half, I realised towards the last 10 to 15 minutes, I did not have enough energy to run back to defend. Like some players including Wen Kai had pointed out, I should have conserved my energy to play before the match and not 'play as if it was for the actual match' during warm-ups. Though this may not seem very constructive, I think it is with such small points that I will have to consider/take note of before I can proceed to handling more significant habits.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
During the first 10 minutes of the match, before Darius asked me to go back to play as a defending midfielder, I did well in working with ODS, playing down the flank and pressurising the opponents such that the ball gets played nearer and nearer towards the goal. I did made big mistakes in control, but I tried to keep my spirits up for play and apply whatever Mr Lam and Coach Tan were commenting on at that point of time.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
Playing as a midfielder, I would definitely say that I have tried to remind myself on applying the support play techniques as well as the closing in/pulling out technique, though I have not really done so yet. Personally, I think I would still need to get even more familiar with my position and make judgements correctly, without having to rely heavily on the comments by other players.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
Physically, I’ll need to improve on my stamina; as for any player on the match, there will be a need to run together as a team, whether is it to go back to defend or move up to attack. As mentioned, I did not run back fast enough to defend, even when Elgin Patt had called me back a number of times to help, and hence I’ll need to work out more. In terms of fundamental techniques, I’ll need to improve on my control; I wouldn’t like to say it this way, but my control really sucked in this match, especially for the case of throw-ins and goal kicks. I found that I was unable to know how to handle the ball and turn immediately when necessary, and this really resulted in a loss of many chances during the game. Whether is it for head, chest, shoulder or foot, I will hence need to train up and focus on cushioning the ball such that the ball is always at my control at all times.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
For me, I learnt that I have to be much more aggressive during the game – not to the point that I overcommit, but just hard enough to earn the possession. And in order to achieve this, I should watch for the ball carefully, and not be distracted by the movements of the opponents’ feet; otherwise, I’ll never get the ball. It is also important that for the key players, as Coach Tan has mentioned, they should always never be allowed to turn and make their pass. For example, in the case of the passes from the opponents’ Chinese winger to their Caucasian striker, it was observed that they can never attack properly if they were not allowed to make the pass. Although there were a couple of times I went in for the ball in particular to this match, I believe there should be even more improvements made.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Generally, I would say yes. Unlike other matches, this is one of the only matches in comparison where every one kept their spirits high. As can be seen before the second half, we motivated one another even though we were all very tired without doubt. It is though that in terms of fitness and technique, we can still do even better.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
As an ordinary player, I think the best I can do to help is by aiming to play my part as a better team player – one who makes the effort to communicate well with others on the pitch. Just as Coach Tan and Mr Lam has mentioned, I’ll need to be a captain myself and learn how to make judgements as well as ask for the ball; just as Darius has mentioned, I’ll need to understand the need to make calls for other players – “It is alright if you make a wrong call, as long as you made the effort to do so; at least it is better than not calling at all”.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
The team can improve by building even further on their bonds and trusts. We can train together as a team, even if it was outside the time for our usual training, as some of us did last Wednesday. Personally, I understand that I may not be able to take in some of the comments at the current moment as honestly, I really have to admit that I sometimes tend to react emotionally if I did not achieve what I have expected (as for last Wednesday). However, I would like to request for whoever that will train with me to bear with that at the moment as I will sometimes need time to take in comments which I am given before I start improving on the weaknesses I am being commented on. For me, I will try my best to improve. But at the same time, I also hope that everyone in our team can accept the differences in other team players, and hence, work together as a team to improve.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
In my own opinion, I think everyone is the man of the match – including all our players as well as our supporters/spectators.

    11. Explain your answer in 10
From this match, we can see that all of us, whether we got injured or not, did try to put in our best of what we can for the time we were on the pitch, even though we made mistakes which were negatively viewed by some of our better players. Firstly, our goalkeeper Jia Le did a wonderful job in trying to keep the ball out of the our goal as far as possible, having had many good blocks and saves, as well as instances of going in aggressively for the ball. Secondly, our defenders Bryan, Niklaus, Darius, Elgin Patt all did well in trying to push our opponents to the side, though there were some flaws (such as clearing out too constantly). Thirdly, our midfielders, wingers and strikers all appeared to have worked well, though we got tired towards the end of the match. Just to mention a few: Jia Le did well as a goalkeeper; Bernard made a number of good proper throw-ins for the team; Eugene was able to hold the ball and bring the ball up; Niklaus defended aggressively and kept the ball out from the center most of the time; even for Kieren, he tried at least to make runs down the pitch. In overall, I believe we have all worked hard, even if it was not well-perceived by some of our players. And lastly, not to forget our supporters/spectators, they all did a good job in taking their time and effort to cheer for our team from the start to the end. This match can therefore certainly be said to be much more better than any of our previous ones, and we should aim to keep this up, and do even better.

    3. I was more supportive of my players and practice the covering technique.

    4. I was able to cover my players more often and managed to prevent a few dribbles from the opponents.

    5. I have to be more supportive of the defense as well as the offense.

    6. Everyone is the captain of the team.

    7. The was significantly more organized in both the defense and offense however there are improvements to be
    made.

    8. I have to give more encouraging feedback to the team as everyone is the leader of the team.

    9. They have to be more compact so that the offense can focus on offense and when the opponents counter-
attack, the defense can be ready.

    10. Jia Le

    11. He improved drastically in this match with more incredible saves, despite a few stumbles. I hope that he can keep this up.
