  1. 1. Rate your performance today from 1 to 10.
I will give myself a modest 6 as a spectator, and 3 as an outfield player.

    2. Explain your rating.
Although I thought I have done fairly satisfactory, I did not stay on my feet when defending at times, even though I was instructed to do so. However, I did my part by trying to cover a team-mate when he was closing down the opponents.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
I feel that my fitness a little better than usual, although there is no doubt that there is much room for improvement.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I have applied what I learnt in training, especially pressuring the opponents to force them to make silly errors. Although those errors did not happen too often, it still caused some confusion within the opponents' defense.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
I can improve on my defending, particularly my tackling and staying on my feet against an onrushing attacker. I can also be much more vocal to call for the ball at times, too.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
I learnt that it is important to stay on my feet, as committing too early will gift the opponent a chance to beat me with ease.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Although it is a bad defeat, the team still gave their all to prevent the opponents from scoring even more goals.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
I can improve on my defending so that I can win back possession for my team with ease, and I can also work on keeping possession better at times, too.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
The team can take some time to practice together, so that we can improve not only as an individual, but also as a team.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    The MOTM will be Darius.

    11. Explain your answer in 10.
Darius was vocal in organizing our defence, and he also constantly ensured that no opponent in a dangerous position was left unmarked in and around the penalty area.

  2. (I will use the questions as a guide, I won't answer accordingly but I will try my best to answer all of it)

I rate myself a 6 for the game today as I feel that I've done well in communicating and emphasizing on the shape of the team throughout the game, I've also tried to keep the team's spirits up all the time and also pointed out some improvements that can be made individually to some players. I've tried to apply what I've learnt in training, opening up when we have possession, pick my move before receiving the ball, glancing up to look for open players etc. But I have to learn to be less panicky when I have the ball. When Jia Le passes the ball to me during goal-kicks, I tend to panic when JV players close me down and I won't play a good pass to my teammates. But on one occasion I managed to pick a good pass to Ming En, which I think I should replicate more often. The team has done well today too, not giving up even after going down 10+ goals in the first half. The spirit, although wasn't as good as when we started, was better than I expected and I am glad to see that. But one thing the team has to learn is to make better use of possession, and defensively, to automatically learn to move into our compact shape after we lose possession. All these should be automatically triggered once we lose possession, but all these takes practice, which is something I can help with by organizing training sessions for that. As for MOTM, my pick would be Elgin Patt. Even though he didn't play the full match, he was constantly in good spirits and was also trying to keep the spirits of the team up with jokes and stuff. He also constantly alerted me of running men and even shouted at me once when I was ball-watching and almost conceded the goal. It wasn't wrong of him, in fact what he did was good as it woke me up and made me more alert to off the ball runs.

    Darius Low,
    Captain

I would rate myself 2. I did almost everything i was not supposed to do. Marking, clearing and closing in. It was really messy. I could see how they attacked, but could not do anything about it. In fact, I was so useless that I didn't even sprint at full speed during the match. Neither was I out of breath. There's even two people unmarked in the penalty box. Nothing much actually, if there was a specific area that I was good at was the clearing of stray balls i guess. I was not able to mark and "trusted" people. Its not bad just that 2 on 1, i guess we would win the ball and adding me, it would be chaotic. Therefore i trusted Darius and Elgin on it. Oh well, they still broke through. We have never fought defensively, so nope, I did not apply what I learnt today. I would say the last few moments we did well, preventing attacks from the left side. I think the team can improve by having better communication, the midfield was close, but at the same time, all over the place. I think Darius was the MOTM, he made a few mistakes and was confused, but he accepted complaints and remarks from us.

  4. 1. Rate your performance today from 1 to 10.

    2. Explain your rating.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
    NA

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
    NA

    5. What do you think should be improved?
I think that our communication skills and also our situational awareness needs to be improved as there were many times in which due to a lack of communication between the team members, the opponent was able to snatch the ball away from us easily and put the ball into the net.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
I learnt that it is very important not to commit to early and this was extremely obvious from how the Jurongville players managed to beat us extremely easily. They simply just tapped the ball past our defenders who committed too early and tried to go for the ball instead of using the 2 arms length rule and only go in when the ball is further away from the opponent's feet.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
I think that the team did well today as I could see that they were try to play to the best of their ability but it was just simply demoralising to get whacked by a stronger team. All in all, the team still did fairly well.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
I think I can learn from this match and improve my communication skills with my defense as I felt that many of the goals conceded were due to a communication breakdown among the players of our defense.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
I think that the team could take some extra time off in order to practice our skills as I feel that we still have much room for improvement.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
I think the Man of the Match is Jia Le.

    11. Explain your answer in 10.
Being a goalkeeper, I know how it feels to let in so many goals in such a short amount of time. And it definitely takes a lot of determination to keep playing on. Jia Le did extremely well and even made a fantastic save during the penalty. I think his acts definitely motivated the team to keep playing their best.

    2. Explain your rating
I think i did pretty well in communicating with the midfielders to get organised. For the left flank, i think i did well by communicating with the Left Defensive Mid and the Left Mid on who to go for the challenge.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
I think my communication was very good today, as i have mentioned above and i felt that i had made a few important interceptions and clearances, i had better composure when i have the ball, trying to look up to see who is free before i pass. If no one is free, then pump it upwards towards the flank to clear.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
Definitely, i feel that the organisation of defence was much better. We covered each other when one went for the challenge. Bring the ball to the flanks instead of the centre. However, i think the most important thing that we applied was still the defensive shape. Although there are times we let the ball through the defensive line, it's because of the defensive shape that we managed to have an improved scoreline compared to Juying.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
Like i said before, our fitness needs to be tremendously improve. This includes our physical strength as there are times where the Jurongville players managed to knock down our players easily. While going for a tackle, and when the Jurongville player was shielding the ball, i was almost knocked down. Therefore, upper body strength needs to be improved.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
We really need to drop back and keep our shape first. This will allow us to pressure the opponents better.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Our mentality of not giving up is commendable and of course, communication was very good today plus the defenders managed to intercept quite a few balls.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
Encourage the team whenever we meet setbacks. This way, we can learn as a team, and improve as a team.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
It's goof for us to encourage and help each other. Firstly, if one isn't good at something, then people who are naturally better at the attribute, should lend a helping hand to guide the player. After all, sharing is caring.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
I think it will be Niklaus.

    11. Explain your answer in 10
He was covering me when i am going for the ball and telling me to watch the player behind me and vice versa. I think i have formed a good bond with him at the left side of the defensive line.

  6. I would rate myself a 7 this time.
This is because though the injuries from the Hwa Chong match was carried on to this tournament, and despite the blister on the right leg worsening, I managed to give it my best.
I think I did well in zone marking. I tried my best to cover any possible gaps left behind by the other members of the midfield.
Not too sure, but I think I applied supporting good enough. I did what I thought I could to support the midfielders if they were being outnumbered.
5&6.I think that zonal marking could have been greatly improved. As Darius correctly pointed out, at the first few minutes of the game I was already running too far, too fast. It was a good thing JurongVille preferred to press down the right flank, giving me ample time to breathe.
The team did well in effort. Visibly, everyone was at their best performance for the entire season.
I should have communicated more with defenders of the left flank. Many a time, I was too focused co-ordinating the right flank, and thereafter, a gap was formed in the centre, giving JurongVille opportunities to shoot.
The team should have communicated more though, especially the midfield. I notice that the midfielders communicate very little, except with the defenders.
    MOTM will again, be everyone.
Everyone did their best, everyone did what they thought they could.

    Explain your rating
Bryan and I were working very well after i got subbed in the last 10 minutes.

What did you think you do well today?
Bryan and I communicated on covering each other as we noticed that they liked to change sides. With 2 defenders covering each other, they won’t get past us so easily with just a tap through the defense.

Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I applied the thing that coach told us to stay in our positions so that we do not over run as if we over run, they are very fast they can out run our defense pretty easily so we should keep our stamina high.

What do you think should be improved?
I think the covering of defenders can be improved as some of the defense did not know how to cover for the defender who went to challenge the attack. The second point is that we should stay on our feet at all times. Most of the time we lost to the attacker by either making the tackle and free for them to just tap and run past us and people jumped when the attacker pretended to shoot. They were very good in their ball control so they just went past us.

What lesson did you learn today?
I learnt that even when facing the strongest, we have much more to learn rather than being against weaker opponents as the stronger opponents would force you to think of how to beat them so more things can be learnt.

Do you think the team did well today?
Yes. They all did their best as most of the people fought with high spirits until the end and never giving up till the last minute of the game. This is very commendable. Especially for the defense and the injured goalkeeper.

How can you help the team to improve?
I think the team should really work on the covering as stated on point 5.

What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
We can obviously improve on our fitness as we can see that jurongville is 10x faster & fitter than us. This makes alot of difference as they could get past us then still have the energy to sprint down the field and change sides the run into the penalty box to support. This helps greatly.

Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Niklaus

    Explain your answer in 10
He guarded the people very well and he communicated alot more. This should be encouraged to all members so that we can know how to cover and how to help your teammates.

    -NIL-
    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
    -NIL-
    5. What do you think should be improved & 6. What lesson did you learn today?
We should practice more on defense drills, specifically on supporting each other whenever we switch play. We should also not be scared of the ball and jump in the way of the ball. Sometimes we are also committing too often when we should be pressurizing the offensive team, we could tell that when we committed ourselves the attackers would easily get past us and have a small window of opportunity to score, which they exploited a few times during the match. However, whenever we pressurized the attackers they would have had to speed up their play, which in the end cause them to make a few mistakes in the process. Our fitness was also a issue this time, but we also need to bulken up as the Jurongville players constantly were able to knock us down.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Yes, as our attitude to never give up during the match was admirable. The midfielders and defenders also constantly compacted when needed to give the opposing players as little space as possible. However, in my opinion our morals did go down after the first few goals, but still no one gave up and we all gave at least a 100% effort in our last match.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
I should spend some of my time to improve my fitness and upper body strength to last a 80min match and to sturdy myself to prevent me from being knocked over. I should also constantly train with the other defenders in the team to familiarize myself with them so as to improve teamwork in our defense. Also, proper communication must be improved, as we are not playing a graveyard game.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
We should hold more training sessions where we train in groups of people that play as similar role in the team, such as defenders train with defenders. This way we can improve co-ordination within a certain section of the team. Also, we need to support each other more often in our games. Our last match against HCI was well played as we had a huge crowd of SST supporters to cheer us on. In a competitive match, we have only the company of ourselves, therefore supporting each other is crucial.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
For this match, I feel that everyone should be consider the MOTM

    11. Explain your answer in 10
This match was good, as even though it was not one of our best, everyone gave their best efforts, and no one was giving lesser than 100%.

  9. 1. I would rate myself 6.3

    2. I felt quite happy with myself at the end of the game as I was not afraid to defend and I think improved on my defending.

    3. I think I did well to defend the right winger and the right defender which both came up to attack at my very best capability. Also, I think that I have made some good judgements when marking or going up to pressure the attackers.

    4. The main skill I have applied from training is how to block the opponent from attack. I felt that I held a good defensive posture when facing the defender and I refrained the opponent from dribbling past me easily and he is usually left with only few choices to play the ball to.

    5. I think covering-up as a team needs to be improved on.

    6. I learnt how strong teams play in a match and it was a rather experiencing match to play in. For example, Jurongville were good at switching play and when they had the chance their defends would also go up to support.

    7. Although it was a bad defeat, I think that what we lack was skill and we actually did our best to defend as a team but this lost was inevitable.

    8. I think what needs to be worked on is having quicker ball control, speed was an important factor in this game and I felt our team lacked it.

    9. I think the team should buff up on their covering up as during the first half the extreme flanks were not defended properly and the attack can easily pass the ball through without difficulty.

10/11. I frankly did not observe anyone that was outstanding during this game. I can tell when watching from the side that many of them put in their best during their game, despite getting overpowered.

I will rate myself 4. I think I did well but still have a lot of room for improvement especially when it comes to defending and positioning. As for what I did well, I think my best although it is far from expectations. I tried to stick with my man and chase although I could have done better as there were a few times when he was free. As for room for improvements, I have a lot. Firstly, I need to work on my positioning and covering. There were times in the game where I felt lost especially when running back to cover bryan. I did not know which was the best position to cover as well as when they took throw ins near the corner flag. I also think I need to improve on my defending. I find it hard to mark effectively as well as tackle the ball at times as for the most part, I have been playing an attacking role and until now I still find defending a little challenging for me. I think I should play a more defensive role whenever we have a match during training and hopefully I can train my skills in that aspect. I also found marking a little confusing when it came to throw ins and something I learnt from that match was how to mark during throw ins, I initially thought that we should beside or in front of the opponent but according to mitchel I was suppose to stand behind him to prevent him from turning and also to cut in and take the ball before the throw. I think what we did well as a team is that despite the score, we still pushed on and tried to keep our spirits high and put in our best effort even though we know we were going to lose, which I think its a good attitude we should keep up. I think we should improve on our communication and defending which is what we lack, as well as attacking once we are competent in defending. I think the man of the match darius as although this was not his best performance, I could still see him trying to rally the team on despite losing and trying to keep our spirits up. He also communicated well with the defenders and put in effort when challenging and chasing down the opponents.

    6

    2. Explain your rating
During the half of the game that I played, I was constantly bombarded with threats by the opponent's attacks. Due to me not focusing, lesser pressure was exerted from the defence due to my lack of ability to clear the ball, sometimes even at critical moments. However, I tried to keep the team spirits up through constant reminders. (Idk whether it helped :/)

    3. What did you think you do well today?
While playing as a right mid, I managed to keep pressure on their left mid, forcing them to pass back to their defence often. However, this changed when I moved to the centre, I was not able to pressure them to the sides anymore due to their sheer speed, and some of them, size. Besides that, nothing else.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I have not really applied what I have learnt in training, unless you count the defensive stance and forcing the attackers to the sides.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
My clearing of the ball, as well as confidence with the ball, has to be improved. Due to my inability to clear the ball legitly, there were a few critical moments that they caught the rebound of the ball, and I lost it to them as my clear was not solid enough. As for my dribbling, I need to be able to hold the ball for longer times and not give in to pressure by just pumping the ball up.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Motivation is key. As well as communication. (#Ithinkthat) As long as the spirits of the team is up, and we are still willing to fight on, we would play a much more profound game as compared to a demoralized team that allows the score difference taking the toll on them. Communication is important as there is, and always will be a running man, in any decent team, just charging through and beating the defenders due to lack of calling. This allows the few extra goals and could be prevented by calling out more often to convey instructions clearly.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Today, despite the challenge bearing down on us, we did well in the aspect of team spirit. We may not be the best in skills, but we do our best to hold the scoreline. Everyone was fighting, trying their best to hold on as long as possible, despite injuries and such. We also helped motivate each other on by giving encouraging advice instead of criticizing each other for their mistakes. This overall allowed us to fight on, not giving up no matter what, even though the odds were heavily against us.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
As me, I could help by giving more constructive motivation, and not drifting off once in a while to talk about some other random thing, distracting people sometimes. My moving into space quickly also has to be improved so as to give the players more options to pass and not just limiting them to a few options.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
We need to know each other's playstyles, as well as provide more constructive feedback, instead of constantly comparing skill levels. Well some are more skillful then others, one does not simply help a team by only helping oneself. Therefore, more motivation should be given out to each and everyone to light up their fighting spirit more.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
While no one stood out in todays match, Everyone, in general, played their best in the match, even though we stood completely no chance unless their entire team was annihilated somehow.

    11. Explain your answer in 10
Everyone gave, or tried to give their very best despite their injuries from the previous match, some even quite serious. Even when injured, morale dampened, we kept fighting on, helping each other along.

    ReplyDelete
  12. 1) I would rate myself 4.3 for the first half and 5.8 for the second.

    2) This match was a match to forget for me. The first 5 goals were due to my lack of concentration and poor judgement from long shots. The second half was better especially during the last 5-10 minutes after the restart when we did not concede any.

    3) I made a few point-blank saves and a penalty which was pretty lucky too. I managed to stay on my feet despite the immerse pain on my injury and continued to remind the defenders what to look out for etc.

    4) At some point of time, yes. But mostly no as I failed to put my body behind the ball. I had a slight touch to 80% of the goals but I didn't have the power/not in the right position/poor reflexes to punch it away.

    5) Covering and mentality. I think we did pretty well as a team to fight till the end but we need to encourage each other to do the right thing. It was a really quiet game in terms of morality.

    6) To stay behind the ball at all times and stay alert to oncoming long shots on my line. The freak goal that I conceded right after the goalkick really caught me off guard.

    7) In my honest opinion, we stood no chance and each of us were rubbish. We didn't compose ourselves, committed amateur mistakes and 0-19 is something we shouldn't be proud of. I admit that my keeping wasn't to the best of my ability, and made severe mistakes. We should continue to strive for the best even if we think we have a strong morale.

8/9) We need to beef up on a lot of areas after this match: Fitness. Speed. Ball control. Support play. Covering. Recovering. I guess these are self-explanatory?

    10) Bryan and Johanan.

    11) I was impressed at how determined Bryan was to get the ball off the right winger everytime there was a through pass or JV switched play. Johanan also threw his body on the line to win throw-ins and possession. They have commendable communication on the left and deserve praise for their effort and never-say-die attitude. Kudos to everyone else who didn't lose faith too.

I couldnt contribute much to the game other than just helping out in the defense. We had very minumal chance of making an attack.Hence my role as a CAM was like CM/DCM.
    3. What did you think you do well today?
I dropped back to help out in pressuring and also in clearing.I cleared a few balls and am happy to do this much of contribution.
    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
Yes.I stood firm during an attack and waited for the opponent to move before commiting a tackle. However there were instances were i failed to do so as i was not focused/clam.
    5. What do you think should be improved & 6. What lesson did you learn today?
I think we should improve our fitness level as individuals. This is what we can do on our own with our own time.Another thing is our attacking play. When we get the ball, like what Mr Stanley Tan said, its like receiving a time bomb.We will just freak out and either clear straight infront or even just try to dribble to hold on the ball. This would usually end as a counter attack or a goal scoring chance for the opposition.
    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Yes.We tried our best but still conceded goals. They were last years finalist. We cannot be compared with them so I am happy that everyone tried their best in this game.
    8. How can you help the team to improve?
When defending,we have to know what each other is thinking so that mistakes will be minimum.Such as 2 persons going for the same ball/opponent which would usually end as the 2 people losing the ball or getting beaten by the opponent.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
More training as the first 11.Trying out possession play as we SHOULD master this quite well but unfortunately,we have not.So i just hope that we can help out our juniors so that they may take "revenge" for us next time:3
    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?

As i have said,we all tried our best.We were in one of out above average form and if that is not enough to get a draw or keep it at 5-0,I cannot blame anybody.Nobody is to be blamed,Not jiale, not the defense, not the striker. If we played at our best and still get beat.We just have to work hard as a team and improve as a team.

During the game, i managed to play pretty alright for the defending. This includes blocking the wingers from trying to dribble in and also covering the other defenders in the game. I also tried to communicate much more today.
What did you think you do well today?
I think I did well in defending the wingers and most importantly the communication with other. I shouted much louder and try to give clearer instruction
Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
In some areas, I did like the defense stance to allow for me to react to the opponent’s movements.
What do you think should be improved?
I think that my dribbling should improve. Another thing is the clearing of the ball. I think I need to improve on running and kicking the ball to clear it in the right direction
There is also alot of issue with high balls into the center of the defense which causes alot of chaos. This can be prevented by closing in on the defenders more.
What lesson did you learn today?
I learnt the importances of closing in on the players so as to give them a harder time to pass the balls to their team mates. I also learnt the importances of communication with the mid fielders. This communication is essential to help block the ball from attacking the defense so easily.
Do you think the team did well today?
I think the team did really well today. Specifically in the determination of everybody. Everybody did their part to prevent the goals from being scored.
How can you help the team to improve?
I can help the team by providing encouragement and precise instructions
What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
think the team can improve through having bettter stamina and ball control.
Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    I think everybody was.
    Explain your answer in 10
We all did a flipping job in working together with nobody giving up

  15. 1. 9

    2. I was able to play the full match!! :D

    3. I learned a a lot of defending skills which I usually never go to practice.

    4. I tried to maintain the boxing stance however I realised that the stance only works when one is patient,
tackling due to panic is not a wise choice when it comes to defending against the "defending champions".

    5. I have to be more patient in my tackles and face the ball head-on instead of turning my back against it.

    6. No matter the duration, push to the limits and never give up.

    7. The team was able to maintain compactness and the defense significantly improved.

    8. I should go for the man with the ball when others can't and support to prevent the "pro-dribblers" from
    getting past the defense.

    9. They should communicate more when it comes to who mark who, etc.

    10. Everyone did their best

    11. All tried to keep the score difference as low as possible.

  16. 1. Rate your performance today from 1 to 10
I’ll give my performance a 4 on average today.

    2. Explain your rating
Playing as a ‘striker’, most significantly I have failed in applying the official rules and adapting to my role well during kick-off when I just went in; personally, I think it was rather humiliating when I made the only mistake that shouldn’t be made during one of those kick-offs and Matthias eventually had to start off alone. Other than that, I feel that I played just as how I was expected to have done, in comparison with all the previous matches.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
At certain points of the match, I have done well in being one of the players who have contributed to adding pressure to the opponents. Although I may not have really won the ball, I did manage to keep a distance away from the opponent players as instructed, and as a result, some of the pressures seemed to have caused them to change direction away from the goal. I believe I can improve further on my judgements for this as I continue to learn more from such experiences.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I may have tried to apply a few parts of what I have learnt, though there is also probably still a majority which I need to apply. For example, I would still have to say that I am unable to receive a goal kick or a pass properly as I realised that there is a tendency for me to let the ball roll behind me for a while before I turn to receive it – in many situations, this was too late and the opponents had already gotten the ball – and this was perhaps due to a lack of confidence that the ball would stay at my feet. Nevertheless, I think I have finally applied learnings such as that from the ‘shoulder bump’ drill we have been working on for our warm-ups. I remembered pushing myself to go for the ball by jumping – for the first time – towards one of my opponents on the left who was receiving a throw-in. Though it was only a small action from the simple drill done, this I think was a great start for me to go even more for the possession of the ball.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
I should definitely improve on my control as well as my judgement of the ball when going to pressurise opponents. As mentioned, I will need to conquer my fears of receiving the ball and become confident of taking the responsibility of having the team’s possession by learning to hold and dribble the ball appropriately. I should also need to get myself familiar and in touch with all the latest rules in soccer, to ensure I don’t make any unnecessary mistakes involving any of the rules during the match.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Technique-wise, I learnt that we must learn to close in far enough, and in the case of opponents like Jurongville, make sure they are pushed away from the centre as well as the goal at all times. Also, we have to keep our distance away from our opponents when pressurising and wait for the chance to steal the ball when they are far enough from the ball; this ensures that we don’t overcommit and go in too fast for the opponents to be able to dribble past. At the same time, players like Mitchel and Darius has also observed that there should be enough players to go for the ball and players should communicate such that only one player goes for the challenge at any one time.
Mentality-wise, I learnt that we should not lose our team spirit and motivation for any of our players in whatever situations during the match; instead we should continue to call out and support for one another, even if it was for the toughest times of the match, because as reminded by Mr Stanley Tan during the half-time of the match, all of us from the team wear the same attire, work together in the same team, and represent not only ourselves but also the school. Hence, we should always ensure that once we are in, we try as far as possible to commit ourselves fully to the game.

  17. (continued from the previous comment above)

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Though we may not have done well in our skill and organisation as compared to our opponents, I believe the team has somewhat done well in the way we are supposed to play. There are always reminders for the players to go back to their position once the opponents go back to their half, and even towards the end of the match or even during the last ten minutes when it rained, the pitch was still filled with encouragements by each other and hence, I think we have done well for keeping our spirits high. For our skill however, we should also not forget the need to take more time to learn.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
As similar to some of my previous reflections, I think I can help the team to improve by being a better player to the team. I can help by communicating better and – particularly observed during this match – being more confident of receiving and possessing the ball, whether is it a pass, throw-in or goalkick. This will in turn allow team players who are working alongside with me to be able to feel confident of passing to me as well.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
The team can practice together more often, and remind each other of the things to apply on before each match, instead of discussing about other topics or even just making comments about own team players. We can practice our own drills which we think can help us during the match and is applicable to us, and hence train together as a team.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
Everyone of all the players who went can be considered the man of the match.

    11. Explain your answer in 10
Clearly, it can be seen that everyone had tried their best of their abilities at that point of time during the match, even if it was not of the best of their usual potentials. Under the weather conditions of a hot and humid environment to play in at first to eventually one that is under the heavy rain towards the end, all of us went through this last match together, even as for those on the bench, who were supporting the team constantly throughout the match but not taken note of. Cheers to all of us who did not give up. (:
