  1. 1. I would rate myself at 5.
    2. I did not play at my position properly and let in goals like flowing water. I was not able to dive well or close down the opponent well.
    3. I only made a few good saves and parried some hard shots. I also was better in my drop kick compared to HCI match.
    4. Well, yes and no. I did not try to narrow down the opponents shooting angle. I did apply the technique of catching the ball and my drop kick by going all the way to the edge of the box to kick it.
    5. I think my confidence should be greatly improved as in the match I was not able to handle the long shots or the shots during the 1-on-1 situation. I should also handle my decisions better and faster and not think too much so that the opponent can score.
    6. I learnt to be more confident, dive faster and further and try to narrow down the opponent during a 1-on-1 situation.
    7. Well, relatively yes. The defense did quite well and it was well commanded by Mr Tan and Mr Lam.
    8. I can help the team by encouraging them to push on during the time in which the opponents are pushing forward hard.
    9. We can work on our fitness and push during our physical sessions. We should also try to push ourselves as hard as we can during our matches so that we can improve in every aspect of the game.
    10. I think the MOTM is Ethan.
    11. He was really precise when going in for the ball and keeping some of our other opponents at bay and saving some balls which could have been a goal-bound shot.

  2. 1. I would rate myself 6.
    2. Even though I was not able to defend much due to the opponent team attacking on our left flank most of the time, the few tackles I made and chases I gave to pressure the attacker when the opponent team attacked down the our right flank were not up to my usual standards.
    3. I think the three consecutive tackles I gave, which led to three consecutive throw-ins for opponents, were the only good tackles I could make in the entire game as every other time the ball rarely got past the right midfielder, their attack would be directed to our left flank before I can make the tackle. But even when the attack continued down our right flank, I was not able to mark the right man and intercept the opponents passes.
    4. I felt I was not able to apply what I have learnt in training.
    5. I feel that as an individual, I was not concentrated on the game enough and that caused me to perform weakly and I have to work on concentrating on the match during a match.
    6. I learnt that if we have a strong winger (such as Jia Le) that is able to push forward down the flanks, following that with a good cross provides our strikers and the supporting midfielders a chance at goal.
    7. I think the team did extremely well today.
    8. I think I can help the team by encouraging and motivating our players whenever we are playing matches.
    9. I think as a team, we should all to get our players to pick an offensive position on the field if they are currently having a defensive position and vice versa. That will really strengthen our team if more players could play more roles so we can support one another no matter which position we play in.
    10. I feel Ethan and Farruq are equally qualified to become the MOTM.
    11. Ethan had improved on timing his tackles after being given pointers and was able to pull off very good tackles today. Also he has made up for his sliding with this new-found skill to time his tackle so he can recover before the attacker can. Farruq on the other hand goal kept really well today. He was able to save all four shots made at his goal and those four shots were really good shots.

  3. 1. I would rate myself a 1.
    2. I did not do much in the match as the defenders kept the ball away from the goal (which is good), so I did not get many chances in actually touching the ball.
    3. I think I pulled out a good save towards Mr Tan's shot
    4. Unfortunately, no, as I mentioned before I did not get the chance to make saves/goal kicks etc. due to the good defence.
    5. I think that the tackling for some players need to be improved as there were many opportunities to score but they lost the ball and could not get it back. I also think that the marking has to improve as this may lead to giving the opponent space and time to receive the ball, creating opportunities for them.
    6. I learnt that the defence has to coordinate well - Open up when in possession and close in when not in possession to increase the chances of creating opportunities and regaining possession respectively.
    7. I think the team did extremely well in the second half of the match as that was when many goals were scored.
    8. I need to work on taking the goal kick high and far, as well as work on my reaction and reflexes.
    9. I think that as a team we can take up different roles so that we have more exposure to each position's playing style and this will help us to read the game more easily.
10, 11. I think that Ethan is the man of the match. He timed his tackles well and managed to recover quickly from the ground.

  4. 1) I would rate myself a 8

    2) I did well in commanding the defence, calling them to get into position and going in for the tackles. I also managed to stay in position well, and also making many good tackles and also timing them well, managing to stop Adil, the main threat most of the time. However, I occasionally went up to try to cover for Wei Feng, which failed once and left a huge gap in the center, allowing Mohit to break through with a simple pass from Adil. I also think this is one of my best performances of far.

    3) I commanded the defence, timed and tackled well, keeping in position and not committing too quickly.

    4) Yes, I managed to follow the coach's advice on timing and positioning.

    5) I can try not to get distracted/ concentrate better, especially after pulling off a good tackle, as I did after dispossessing Adil, not even knowing it was out for a corner until moments before it was taken.

    6) Concentration is extremely important. Losing it can be fatal.

    7) Although we were hammered 8-0, the 1st half players managed to keep it 0-0. Although the 2nd half players failed to stop the 8 goals, they did not give up and still tried to attack and defend their best without giving up even though a comeback was almost impossible.

    8) I can help push the team further and help each other.

    9) We should be alot more serious during fitness sessions and try to perfect our tactics and skills and understand each other more.

    10) I must say the MOTM is definitely Rachit.

    11) Although many might say he was bad as he could not stop the free flow of goals, he pulled off many fine saves at the start and it was only until the 2nd goal conceded did he lose confidence and conceded more openly. I would say frankly, the 2nd half's defence was horrible and some defenders even just stood there and watched after failing to get the ball. They were the cause of the hammering(I feel) and Rachit was subject to the pounding that the other side gave, causing the free flow of goals that should nver have ever happened had the defence played better.

    1. WAIT. I think I overrated myself ==. I'll give myself 7-7.5 instead.

  5. I would rate myself a 6 for today. I have been out of position for many times in the game, and after attacking I have lacked the discipline to quickly drop back to help out in defense, constantly getting reminders from JiaLe and Niklaus. I have also defended quite poorly, always forgetting my defensive stance and allowing strikers to get past me easily. Sometimes, I have also committed myself to the tackle too early, and allowed the attacker to get past me easily. When shifting because of switch of flanks, I have also reacted too slowly, giving my RBs a lot of trouble sometimes. Having said that however, I feel that I have communicated well, especially with the RBs who played, linking up well with them and constantly pointing out open/running men/woman and covered for them well when they get beaten. As for application of what we learnt in training, I think not. I have not seen a lot of opening up and simple passing in the game from either team, and often relied on speedy and good dribblers in the team to provide the crosses and shots etc. We should be passing more, lesser running with the ball, and more off the ball runs. We also have to communicate more, alert each other of approaching players and suggesting open options to them. I think the team has done well today in terms of keeping the shape. Despite the occasional scrambling of the CDMs and CAMs, we have very quickly dropped back into our shape without reminders, which is good. One thing though, I find that although the gap between the midfield and the defense is better, it can still be improved. For my MOTMs, I would like to name a few. Firstly, JiaLe. He has produced yet another wonderful display of his decisiveness and command of the defense when in goal, and confidently took on players when outfield. This has led to a few assists and a hat-trick to his name. Secondly, Mitchel. He has done his CDM duties very well, making our job as defenders a lot easier. He didn't hesitate with his tackles even against the teachers, which is a good display of a CDM. Thirdly, Yan Zheng. He has been fairly influential in attack, and often drops back to defend. He has also made some good passes and some successful dribbles. And finally, Pides. He has caught my eye with his good performance in midfield. He was almost like a playmaker for the team, holding the ball well, linking up very well with his teammates and making good and decisive passes. As for the rest, keep working hard, apply what you've learnt in training, and keep up the good work!

    Captain,
    Darius Low

  6. 1) I would rate myself as a 5.
    2) I did not play to my fullest capacity as I did not have a feel of the ball before the match.
    3) I did well in timing my challenge accurately to make a successful tackle against Darius and Jia Le
    4) I think I have applied what I learnt during training by constantly running for space even when you are tired.
    5) I think I should have improved by not shouting at defenders as it might create distraction but the defenders
should know what they are supposed to do.
    6) I learnt that basic ball skills and fitness is very important as in the match, many poor passes led to cheap
goals. Fitness is what you need as a basic, there is nothing that can cover up for fitness.
    7) The Sec 1 & Teachers team did well in their defense in the first half with Ethan performing lots of well timed
    tackles.
    8) Me and some other fitter teammates can cheer on some other less fit teammates.
    9) The team can train their basic ball skills like ball control, basic and far range passing.
    10) I think the MOTM is Ethan.
    11) He improved a lot in his evaluation of the situation to make hard but fair
tackles to earn him some time to get up, he also got up much faster. Sorry for not naming any strikers as
feel that it is too easy to get past our defense.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I felt that my performance only deserved 2.
This is because I felt that I was easily tired, and didn't have a clear mind. While others are helping out in the field, i felt lost and when i got the ball, the most i could do was a few steps before i'm challenged where i lose the ball. Secondly, i felt insecure that the defense is opening up more and more therefore the teachers could charge in. As a defender, I felt the need to run back as to help out but stuck that they might need me upfield. Also, there were reckless charges that i could have avoided during the match but i was not thinking straight anymore. However, it was fun overall, getting to win people, though saddening to see the defense broken down in small precise touches.
I think i did not do well today as there were a lot of mistakes i made like wrong anticipation, wrong judgement, wrong position and bad decisions. Only back to the defense line at the second half where i was clearer in the head. The ecstasy of running that much and getting pushed is nice. To meet the physical limits. I realized that i was panting before i even sweat.
I tried cutting and passing through the opponent at another side, it only worked as my speed was comparable to them, however, there were many dead ends that i could not rack my brains to break through. My crossing were a problem as well and I didn't take any shots that time. Therefore i say that I did not apply my training methods. Be it opening to space nor calling and closing in.
Stamina, it seems the most basic, but its the thing i fall back on a lot being right midfielder. However, I would need to learn some skills needed to break the defense. Secondly, is the closing in, in the second half, being Center Defense, I let my guard down and they almost had a chance to score on that. But i didn't think it was much of a challenge such that the teachers could find many faults and opening in our defense to pass right through like the first half.
I didn't learn much, its like a repeat of another match..
I thought the team did rather badly considering the amount of times we attacked, letting our defense to break, miscommunication and such. We won simply due to our physical and speed. Maybe the clearing is one commendable item to state. The defense was in the mess anyway.
I can help the team to improve by practicing the co-ordination of the defense and the crossing of mine.
We can improve as a team by improving physical strength as we are kind of weak in a sense. Therefore we cannot afford other teams to pass our defense wall. Maybe a different physical workout is required.
I was not paying attention towards the MOTM, i was too busy catching my breath. I think its Darius, simply because he controlled the defense and made it barely stopping the attack in the penalty box.

    2. Explain your rating
At first when I started to play I immediately failed to perform on the first attempt. However the next few attacks I tried by best to get the ball away and I believe I did a decent job in stopping the ball. However my carelessness resulted in an injury(hand got studded) that prevented me from playing
    3. What did you think you do well today?
As usual I tried by best and always chased after the ball. I did manage to stop a cross for once.
    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
Yes, in terms of closing in and shifting of defense.
    5. What do you think should be improved?
I need to watch out and be more careful. I got my hand injured too easily. Also I need to be more alert as I kept mistaking Mr Low(who wore the same coloured shirt as us) as a teammate. I need to be able to predict the play better and do a better job as a defender and reduce the number of conceded attacks.
    6. What lesson did you learn today?
One wrong fall and resulting injury can send you out of the match immediately. That one second of failure to get up in time can prevent you from playing for the rest of the match. Be alert, every split second counts.
    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Yes VERY well. Not as well during the 1st half but the second half was brilliant. 8 goals. Our highest total, all in 30min half. The attack force was fantastic. I and have to note, I think the whole team worked well. Defense got the ball, pushed to midfield. Midfield continue breaking the defense. Sometimes soloed and scored, other times assisted to strikers and scored. This is a major improvement as the teamwork chemistry was there in terms of assisting.
    8. How can you help the team to improve?
Stay in the formation, do not be a stray player. Breaking the formation results in causing the other players to be lost and confused. Also, communicate and help to look out for teammate's area that's out of their field of vision.
    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
Continue to communicate and pass. Simple play.
    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Jia Le & Darius
    11. Explain your answer in 10
He was a brilliant goalkeeper stopping any shots and he also commanded the defense well. Secondly, when he went up to attack, he had a hat trick and executed many assists. One of his goals was a wicked long ball into the net. Very nice accuracy.
Darius did well in defense, constantly telling the players if they were off position. He also made a spectacular block in the penalty box.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I would rate myself 5.
I was not able to keep up with the right wing and right back as I was too slow. My ball control was also not good enough. I also realised that when I got the ball, I would often not know what to do when the opponents close me down, and when someone asks me to pass to them, I would take too long to find them and resulting in the loss of possession. There was also a moment that when I accidentally pass to hard and the ball flew past Yan Zheng and went to the midfield.
I was able to communicate with the left back and midfield well. I also managed to do a good throw in and also to make a good cross to the attacking midfields.
I do not think i applied what i have learnt in training, especially to pressurize the opponent.
Our speed, power and technique can be improved.
I learnt that if we hope to win in the future, we have a long way to go. We need a lot of training and we have to put in our best in every game.
I think the team has been communicating a bit more since our last match but our defence still needs improvement.
We could learn different techniques to counter the opponent if they pressurize you or how to pressurize them with at most two players.
I think we can communicate a lot more and we must learn to spread out and not to commit too early.
Ethan is the Man Of The Match.
His timing of tackling, speed , ways to pass the midfields and clearing the ball is incredible. He also did not stop communicating with some of the teachers and Ryan and Wun Feng.

    ReplyDelete
  10. 1) I would rate myself a 6.
    2) Though I saved two shots from Matthew and Jay Que, I think I still need to work hard on the catching of the ball as I could have easily caught Matthew's shot but instead I just deflected it and gave Jay Que an opportunity to shoot.
    3) I think I did well on my dropkicks as though it didn't go that far, it still gave the teachers the opportunity to attack.
    4) Unfortunately, no. I had to catch or punch the ball if I could, all I did was to deflect it.
    5) I need to improve on my fitness as after Coach Vaira punished Luke, Clemens and I by running 1 round around the field, I was already very exhausted.
    6) I learnt that losing and winning are part and parcel of soccer matches, and we shouldn't be too disheartened or arrogant after losing or winning respectively.
    7) I think the team did well in the defence in the first half and that caused the opposition to have fewer chances of scoring.
    8) I think I can help the team improve by commanding the defence better not only during corner kicks but any time I have the chance to communicate with my team-mates.
    9) I think the team can improve in the offence and defence so it won't be focused only on one area like defence only or offence only.
    10) I think Ethan is the Man Of The Match.
    11) I saw that he put in his all in defending and keep communicating with the others.

    2. Explain your rating
Despite the fact that i wasn't able to control some balls well, I felt that i have done well in supporting the attack as we have possession and falling back as soon as possession is lost. I've also took some shots from the edge of the penalty box which i thing is a good thing as this proves that i had been communicating with my teammates and asking for the ball and moving into space. However, saying that, none of my shots arrive inside the goal, which proves that i will have to work on my shooting and first touch. I am also impressed with myself for being able to be part of the lead up to 4 goals. I may not have been the direct assister, but i did well in assisting the assister.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
Like i said above, communication today was very good to me. I managed to help in the lead up of 4 goals and i could took a couple of shots. Furthermore, at times when i had a good shooting position, instead of shooting, i decided to pass. This is because even though there was a clear way for me to shoot, i felt passing to another teammate at that point was better, as shooting may cause me to lease possession immediately if the ball doesn't fly into the net. Furthermore, it could have led to a counter attack.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
Yes, i adopted the defensive stance as i had to defend. Although my first shot of the game wasn't the proper technique, but due to coach's reminder to use my laces when shooting, i managed to shoot with accuracy subsequent times.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
Obviously my control and reaction time, there were times when the opponent did not control the ball properly and as i intercept, i did not keep the ball close to me, causing me to lose the ball quickly again. Sometimes the opponents would suddenly switch in speed and direction and i got fooled certain times.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Teamwork is very important, all of our goals came from the team working together as one.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
We weren't so well in the 1st half, but we were superb in the 2nd half. Scoring 8 goals in one half is considered superb.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
Encourage the team to increase the morale.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
We could probably do some combination play.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Jia Le

    11. Explain your answer in 10
He never stopped running, scored a hat trick, contributed to some more

    ReplyDelete
  12. 1. Rate your performance today from 1 to 10

    I think it's 4-5.

    2. Explain your rating

I did improve a bit but I did not control the ball before passing it. Also, I kicked the ball just before the opponents tried to win it all because I was thinking what to do. If I had not kicked it in time, it would have been worse.

    3. What did you think you do well today?

I managed to clear some shots safely like what the seniors are telling me to do during training.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?

Yes. I finally cleared the ball in the right direction.

    5. What do you think should be improved?

I must remember to control the ball and think faster.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?

That we must ot be afraid of the ball.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?

Yes, I think everyone tried their best.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?

For the team I think we could all be less afraid of the ball.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?

We could try to let everyone play in their preferred position. If others notice that one actually has the skills a person in another position would show, they could tell that person that they actually play better in that position.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?

    I think it's Ethan.

    11. Explain your answer in 10.

He kept trying to keep the opposing strikers away and he did not stop communicating with everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  13. 1) i would rate myself a 5.
    2) I managed to learn some skills while playing and tried to encourage my teammates but failed to mark my men properly.
    3) I tried to mark some people but unfortunately did not mark them properly but still manage to intercept the ball 2 or 3 times.
    4) Yes, i tried to pressurize the opponent but was too far away. .
    5) my speed could be improved as i could not keep up with the opponent as mention in number 4.
    6) I learned that when marking somebody, i must not be in front of the person that i want to mark but instead be behind the person whom i want to mark.
    7) Yes and no.The first half's team tried their best and maintained the score but the second half's team did not.
    8) I could encourage my teammates to give them some morale to continue playing.
    9) We could keep on communicating as sometimes there are two people near the ball but when the first player reaches the ball he does not touch it, assuming that the second will get the ball and in the end the opponent gets the ball instead.
    10) I think that Ethan is the man of the match.
    11) He was trying the communicate with his team while defending his side.

    ReplyDelete
  14. 1.I would rate myself a 6.

    2. I did ok today. But i did not provide enough crosses for the strikers and did not provide much when attacking.

3.I think I did well in providing attacking options for my teammates and in terms of passing I think I did well by providing through passes.

    4. Yes I think I have, I applied the use of clever passing and team play.

5.I think that we all have to improve. For the defenders, you guys have to improve on moving as one and in a line and not be out of position and allowing players to run through. For the midfielders, I think we have to improve on trying to provide more attacking options and help the defenders more in the future. As for the strikers, we had none as they were all teachers.

    6. I learnt that if everyone is going to be played, we should not just complain that some are not good enough and we should all instead work to make everyone better so that we will have a good, well balanced team of awesome players.

    7. I think the team did poorly today, as we were thrashed. But that does not mean that we cannot improve and become a better team.

    8. I think I can help the team improve by encouraging them and helping those that are in need.

9.What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
I think the team can improve by pushing our-self's even harder than before and to achieve better in the future.

10,11.There are a few that did very well today, Ethan, he was exceptional in defence, Wen Feng, was the play maker of the team, Wei Feng, has improved and did well in LB, Farruq though he did not have a hard time, he was always alert, ready and was not going to let anything past him.

    ReplyDelete
  15. 1. I would rate myself a 5.

    2. I can't say i did much because i played the least as i was subed in for a short time in the first half for a defender. The other team was attacking from the other flank more often so i didn't really do much.

    3. When a sec 3 was going to attack, my teammates was shouting at me to tackle but i tried to remember to not commit so fast and kept my distance. I didn't get to clear the ball away or get the ball but i managed to give my opponent a hard time and let my teammates fall back for support by buying that little time.

    4. Yes as i remembered not to commit fast and tried my best to go into that stance to force the opponent to go to his left.

    5. As i've said i didn't do much but i think i should learn to be able to think fast because i remember being blank for like 1 or 2 seconds which could've been fatal. For the team, maybe ball control because defenders were just swinging their legs when a ball came and the ball just continued to roll pass them which is really pathetic to be honest. Passing too because sometimes we just kicked the ball without knowing exactly where our teammates were.

    6. I learned that we still have a long way to go. CLEAR communication is also a key factor because it is confusing when two teammates tell me to do something at the same time which is both opposite of what each wants me to do.

I WILL EDIT THIS LATER AND ADD ON THE REST.

    2. Explain your rating
I never played my role of a CM properly and this was roughly my first match as part of the team.
    3. What did you think you do well today?
I did not do well at all. I lost the ball almost all the time and made some very bad mistakes.
    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I have only gone for 2 training sessions so I do not think I have applied much.
    5. What do you think should be improved?
I need to improve on my ball control and getting past players and also shielding the ball effectively.
    6. What lesson did you learn today?
I learnt to play better with my new teammates.
    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Overall, the team did fairly well although there is room for alot of improvement.
    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
We could be more committed during training and work hard to improve as a team
    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
I think the man of the match would be Jia Le. He scored three excellent goals and played his position properly.

    2. I missed a few opportunities that would have been converted to goals if I had just taken the shot at goal, and also I felt that I was not as fast as I believe I can be.
    3. I would say I'm slightly better at gaining possession from the opponent defenders, as compared to last year.
    4. Not entirely I would say, as I was not as good on such areas such as basic ball control and beating past the defender.
    5. I should work on my stamina, as I was already a little tired at the start of the match due to the warm ups before that.
    6. I learnt that I have to work on my dribbling skills and ball control, especially when under pressure.
    7. Yes, I strongly believe that the team did better during the second half, but I believe that it was partly caused by the change of the opposition defence, which made it easier to attack.
    8. I could have actually try to score from afar, like how Matthew did during the earlier parts of the game.
    9. We should train more on set-pieces and corners.
    10. Ethan.
    11. Ethan was really really determined to not let anyone pass through him, and if he failed, he gets up and tries again really quickly, and yes I do mean really quickly, and it was quite obvious that after he was out of the game, the defence of his team began to crumble slowly.

  19. 1. Rate your performance today from 1 to 10
Ans: I would rate myself 3/10

    2. Explain your rating
Ans: I got quite confused and was not used to my new position as CDM because I was not very confident in my communication with Mitchel. This thus resulted in uncertainty of going in for the ball.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
Ans: I stayed in position according to what Darius assigned me to during the game, together with Elgin Patt and Niklaus when the ball was in the attacking half. I also managed to pressure the opponent's target man (Mr. Low) and steal the ball when necessary.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
Ans: Not really; I did not possess the ball for my team as I should and lacked accuracy in a number of passes during the game.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
Ans: I realised that I had lost my usual stamina after the two weeks of holiday due to a increase of weight in ratio to the amount of training. Because of this, I did not sustain throughout the entire time which I played and got rather tired towards the end of my part of the play.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Ans: I learnt that planning of strategy was an important part of the game, whether is it in terms of that as a team or that as an individual. The position, skill and area in which a player plays makes a big difference during the game, when it is assigned right.

(to be continued in the next comment below)

  20. (continued from the previous comment above)

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
Ans: Actually the team did only fairly well in overall, although there are players who have done well. Everyone had tried their best, but I believe we could have been capable of much more, especially in comparison to our play before the holidays – part of the success which the team achieved was only due to the skill which was second-nature to some players, while the other was due to the team tactics which had been planned to outrun the teachers at the last minute. Honestly, there are players including me who had not played well.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
Ans: I can help the team to improve by first accepting my own weaker points which are noted by others – whether is it Coach, stronger team players or even some of the juniors – working to improve on them, before doing the same for others. This way, we can help to eliminate our own flaws within the team and help to improve our skills & techniques over time.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
Ans: The team should improve on communication – for those who are require more confidence for this, they should work more on it; for those who are already doing well, they should aim to keep it up, do even better, and also at the same time help out on those who need improvement whenever they see that they are not doing as well.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
Ans: Personally, the men of the match includes (but may not be limited or agreeable to) Darius, Jia Le, Ethan and Wilbur.

    11. Explain your answer in 10
Ans: Firstly, Darius was constantly helping to organize the team, to a rather high extent. Despite being one of those who had to run the entire time, he called for those who would go up or down during the corners, and still sprinted back to cover when all defenders had been passed, even in situations which I don't think many would. Jia Le seemed to have maintained his composure throughout, making no significant mistakes whether as a goalkeeper or upfront player. Ethan, though from the teachers' team, defended really well with good reflexes and made it hard for the initial attacking players such as Adil to get through. Last but not least, I think I should comment on Wilbur's level of confidence during the game, despite other players' negative comments, which was what allowed him to score; it is though that he should improve on technique to be able to pass, trust for other players and learn to look up whenever he has the ball (as quoted from Coach Vaira at the side).

    I would rate myself a 2 today.

    2. Explain your rating
I was not able to play the ball to my teammates properly and wasn't performing well for the entire time I was playing.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
I think I was able to command my defense to a certain extent.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
Although I did not actually use the skills learnt during training, I was able to visualise what our teammates could do in order to push up and attack. I helped them out by shouting out what I thought they should do in the current situation.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
I think our communication should be improved as I find that everyone is very quiet and do not communicate with each other.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
I learnt that the ball must be closed down fast in order to prevent your opponent from attacking and posing a threat to your goal.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
I think that the team did very well today, for the Sec 3s, I found that everyone was passing much more and the flow of play was there. While for the Sec 2s and 1s, I can see that they have a lot of skill and potential in them by the way they performed during the match, not goal-wise.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
I think that I can help the team to improve by communicating with them much more during the match so that the players have more situational awareness of everything around them.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
I think that the team could have some external training sessions outside of the normal Monday and Friday training sessions.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
I think the man of the match today is Bryan.

    11. Explain your answer in 10
He was constantly utilising the flanks and exploiting gaps down the side, this allowed us to push the other team back a lot and allowed us to score.

  22. 1. Rate your performance today from 1 to 10

    I will rate myself a 2.

    2. Explain your rating.

Although I have contributed a fair amount to the team in the short spell I played, it is still not enough to cover up my exposed weaknesses. I am still not confident enough in 50-50 challenges, and I failed to go into space to ask for the ball many a times, though my fitness is still fairly satisfactory.

    3. What did you think you do well today?

I contributed to a goal indirectly by pressuring the opponent to misplace a pass, which ended up at Jia Le's feet instead of his own team-mates' feet. I also managed to create a goal-scoring chance (to take a shot on target) in the short time I played.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?

The one thing I applied in the match from training is to stay composed when in possession of the ball, and to understand the surroundings before making a pass. I tried holding and passing the ball with better composure, and it allowed me to release/retain possession better.

    5. What do you think should be improved?

I can improve on my interceptions, whether it is the 50-50 challenges or the aerial balls, as I am still sorely lacking in those aspects of the game.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?

I learnt that it is important to stick together as a team and focus on keeping or winning back possession. Moreover, I also learnt that we should not be fazed by the opponents regardless their size or strength, and that the most important thing is to believe in oneself and the team.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?

We did much better in a second half, as we managed to pass with tempo and exploit the space left by the opponents, which explains why we scored most of our eight goals in the last half an hour.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?

As a member of the team, I can try to train harder and work on the weaker aspects of my play (i.e intercepting 50-50 challenges, headers, etc.). This will not only benefit myself, but also the team in the long run, whether it is in tournaments or friendly matches.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?

The team can try to understand each other as well as every individual's style of play, so that we can help one another and play to each other's strengths and weaknesses. We can also encourage and motivate each other during the match itself, so as to be able to perform better collectively as a whole.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?

My MOTM today will be Wen Kai and Jia Le.

    11. Explain your answer in 10

Wen Kai is one of the man of the match today as he often got himself in good scoring positions, which is why he managed to score four goals in the match itself.

As for Jia Le, he did exceptionally well in the first half as our goalkeeper; in the second half, he also performed well as an outfield player, by running constantly at the opponents to win back possession (and to complete his hat trick).

    I would rate myself a 3 today.

    2. Explain your rating
I could not focus on the match due to tiredness

    3. What did you think you do well today?
    Nothing.Seriously...

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
Well I did push up and support the players with the ball which resulted in more options for the player with the ball to pass to.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
I agree with Sean(above) that we need to communicate more. The only sounds i hear are the fans, the ball and occasionally some people communicating for the match.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Dont EVER play soccer for an entire afternoon before a match...

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
I think we were not complacent and that is very important as
    1)Respect the opposition
2)If they managed to counter and take the lead somehow, our morale will definitely drop 10 times worse than normal
3)It good to have at least a 2-0 lead to be safe.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
I can improve myself first then try and use my abilities to help the team.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
Allow us to play together more often in order to gel. Some of us don't know how each other play and by playing together more often,i believe we can play even better.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
I think the man of the match today is Wenkai.

    11. Explain your answer in 10
When we needed someone to do all the finishing, Wenkai appeared.During the previous match against HCI compared to now,he definitely improved a whole lot more in terms of his skill/form. His 4 goals proved that.

    5. I missed an easy ball to score in the penalty area as i just shot it at the goalkeeper.

    2. Explain your rating
The reason 5 is given today was that i did not tackle hard enough.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
Got a through pass to aidil in the front and he got it and it lead to a goal scoring opportunity

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
Yes. I have applied the passing techniques and the cutting technique that coach varia went thru.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
I could have tackled harder in the midfield as i was too soft on the ball.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
I learn that being complacent is not good but having self confidence is very important.

    7. Do you think the team did well today?
The team was not complacent even after a 6-0 lead. They also had very nice passes and set play. These lead to most of their goals.

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
The team should work on their shooting especially from outside the penalty box as most of us cannot shoot nicely.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
We should improve on our midfield and attacking as most of the time we can defend but we cannot bring the ball forward to a successful attack.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    LhuLhu

    11. Explain your answer in 10
After he scored the first goal, the team had more confidence to shoot from afar and they did not hesitate as they have the 1 goal in mind mentality

    I rate myself 9.

    2. Explain your rating. What did you think you do well today?
Even though I scored 4 goals, I was out of stamina pretty quick, so I didn't help out much in defence, but that means I get to camp up front. Also, I think I pressured and tackled well, because I did manage to nick the ball from Mr Lam and finished with my left foot which I think its a great achievement for me because I was quite scared at first to shoot with my left and thinking I would miss, but after I dribbled on with empty space I just figured out must as well give it a shot (no pun intended) so yea. Another thing I think I did well was that I finished off my chances because I was quite happy to be able to control Jia Le's cross with my face and then just lash a shot without really measuring it. Finally, I am pretty elated that I trusted my own judgement because if I passed to my teammates who were shouting for the ball I would not have scored 1 goal.

    3. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I am not really sure because I am the targetman and I just shot whatever came to me. I did finished off and scored so I guess I applied what I have learnt in training. I also listened to Coach Tan's previous advice on where to position myself and it worked out pretty well for the 1st goal as the two centrebacks were very bemused on who to go forward for the challenge.

    4. What do you think should be improved?
    My stamina.

    5. What lesson did you learn today?
Trusting your instinct is very important as well as keeping your confidence level high because it is better to do what you have in mind instead of changing decisions at the last second because you're scared that your teammates will scold you or something.

    6. Do you think the team did well today?
To say the truth, the 2nd half team was weaker, so in the midfield the battles were already won ie defence was not really tested. However, I think that a lot of midfielders let the ball run past them before making an extra mile to run behind the ball to stop it which is really retarded because you could have stopped it instead of letting it run, especially when there is no one around because for all we know if Aguero or Walcott is playing as the opposition, they would have pounced on it and the guy letting the ball run will naturally make a mistake because of the 'surpriseness'.

    7. How can you help the team to improve?
For me I think I did my job as a targetman but I can improve on my stamina like I said so I can get into position and support the wingers especially.

    8. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
Communication. I think everyone is playing with familiar opposition, so the communication wasn't there. Everybody was just signaling to each other.

    9. Who do you think is the man of match?
I would love to nominate myself but oh well I shall be like the managers in the Premier League and say that 'it was a team effort'. Done!

2&3. I managed to defend a few attempts at offense, and I believe I did rather well in supporting the offense (except after stamina depleted). I'm pleased that my stamina has considerably increased since the beginning of the year, and thankfully, now my speed has increased a little.
    4. Yes & No.
    5. There still could be improvisation on ball control. There is much work to do in improving a few skills, like stamina and long passes.
    6. I learnt that as center midfielder, I need to keep the midfield line in constant check. Many a time, the left or right midfield will tend to support their respective flanks, but often forget to return to the field, leaving big gaps in the centre area, opening up to scoring opportunities for the opponents.
    7. Yes. More or less evident in the score.
    8. It still all boils down to communication.
9&10. I believe everyone was on his best today (with the exception of some people), so no particular MOTM.

    2. Explain your rating
I was not able to hold the flank properly as I was not able to read the attack properly during their push. This sometimes caused holes in the defense, thus they were able to apply pressure on us during the first half while I played. This also almost lead to a few breakthroughs.

    3. What did you think you do well today?
Besides a few headers, Nothing much.

    4. Do you think you have applied what you have learned in training?
I have not effectively applied what I have learnt in training due to the fact that I did not push up fast enough with the rest of the defense.

    5. What do you think should be improved?
I need to improve on my aspect of clearing the ball and passing. I need to be able to clear the ball effectively in order to get out of tight situations effectively, whereas passing is a basic skill which should be mastered.

    6. What lesson did you learn today?
Communication is key, United we stand. Communication provides effective covering for players, which allows them to quickly make a decision whether to hold the ball or pass the ball. This allows for more organized play, which can be coupled with the team moving as a whole to play an aggressive game.

    7. What do you think the team did well in today?
The team had moved as a unit, the defense closing up the line, which put high amounts of pressure on the opposition

    8. How can you help the team to improve?
I need to communicate more with the defensive line as well as the winger. This allows them to be decisive while warning them of incoming threats.

    9. What do you think the team can do as a team to improve?
We need to familiarize ourselves with each other's play style, and improving team bonds.

    10. Who do you think is the man of the match today?
    Jiale

    11. Explain your answer in 10

  28. 1) I would rate myself 7.3 for the first half and 8.8 for the second.

    2) During the first half, I kept my composure and a clean sheet. My decision making improved and I managed to command the defence better. In the second half, although I scored 2 lucky far-ranged shots, I felt that I was lacking essential stamina to help out the defence whenever we were not in possession.

    3) As a keeper, my decision making assisted me a lot as I needed to think quick whether to go for the ball or stay on my line. My long-ranged passing improved as I assisted Wen Kai a few times with that. Also, I had a better vision during the match and knew when to pass or shoot.

    4) Honestly, no. As an outfield player, my mentality was still to solo. Out of 10 opportunities to pass, I only used 2-3. But as a goalkeeper, I've learnt a lot from the tournament and coach peikang.

    5) As a team, we desperately need to work on our control. Obviously there's lots of things to work on, but control is essential when you get the ball.

    6) I learnt that the feeling of an assist is much better than scoring. LOL just kidding it's good to have a good vision so that you know what to do next with the ball.

    7) I think the team did extremely well in terms of morale. Bryan dared to moved up and Darius took on the teachers like how he took on ahem lol jkjk. Wen Kai finally got his scoring touch and went on a rampage with 4 goals.

8/9) We need to beef up on a lot of areas after this match: Fitness. Speed. Ball control. Support play. Covering. Recovering. I guess these are self-explanatory?

    10) Lhu Wen Kai

    11) He was spectacular on the ball; control, composure and finishing. He even dared to disposes Mr Lam and scored with his left foot. Overall, he did well as a lone striker with Matthias and I behind him.

I would also like to commend on Niklaus+Darius, Bryan+Matthias and Mitchel. The pairing in defence once again proved to be a brick wall. Niklaus managed to muscle out most of the teachers but he has to communicate more when he needs covering. Many of times when he advances up to challenge for the ball, Darius is left alone to mark and defend oncoming players. Darius was exceptional in all areas except he has to be more disciplined after going up. He produced a super block in the first half that would have killed our clean sheet. Bryan and Matthias were devastating on the left flank during the second half, exchanging passes and making deadly runs into the opposition's penalty box. Mitchel, as usual, was a powerhouse in midfield and did pretty well as a centre-mid.

FINALLY A REFLECTION ON A WIN. AN 8-0 WIN. YAY
