  1. I think that I did fairly bad this time round. Even though it was my first time being a gk in a game, I thought 2/3 of the goals were of my mistake. I didn't have the confidence that i had usually and to be honest, those goals were light, not even tough to handle. But I was struck, I didn't know what to do at that time, when the ball was moving towards me. I thought i was doing an okay job, shouting around, perhaps that may have cause the goals, but I think that our goal keepers don't talk to the players much often that we fall apart. Thats why I tried changing it a bit thinking it might work. Perhaps it did, perhaps it didn't, but i'm sure i need some more work on my confidence such that i can handle being a gk again.
Well, as a defender in the second half, I thought my defense weakened as i didn't have the stamina to carry up on my attacks. I will now try to attack lesser and defend more as the attacking pace had really got me to a physical limit that i could not recover from another counter attack from the opponent. I thought that the team morale was going at an all time low, and the only voice i can hear from my side was only me.
I think that tobias was great at his job, he ran like hell on that match ^^~

  2. As a centre back who has only played in this position once at the first half of the year for 10 mins, I believe I was able to watch my defensive position well and had the discipline to no attack when we go forward as defence. However on the negative side, even though I stayed back to defend, I did badly when the opponent was on the counter attack and I committed too early and I should have contained instead. I Conceded a dangerous free kick even though I had touched the ball in my opinion and a bad penalty due to my poor control, fortunately saved by the goalkeeper.

The important thing for the team is to have the commitment even during the holidays to turn up for training and to come for matches, we were playing a team that we not playing their usual positions in the back.

However in this game, I believe that I had the fitness needed as I had completed the whole game and I felt I would have been able to continue if the game was 40 mins.

  3. I felt that i did fairly okay in this game. Although there is still a lot of work to do for my stamina and speed. After seeing that the B boys from swiss cottage is much more faster than me and much stronger. So i have to work on my upper body strength my stamina as well as my lower body strength before the next years competition. The team is improving in terms of team work and communication. There was a lot of communication and moving of the ball. I felt that this did make us a better team and if we work more on it we would be able to be a better team and move forward together. I believe the team can work better if each of us work on our fitness level. This would not only boost our stamina but also enables us to keep having the positive mentality as the moment u get tired there is a high chance that you are thinking that you are finished. I believe that the team in general did well in their own way. did not really notice anyone that did especially well though.

  4. 1) I would rate myself 6.3 in the first half and 5.3 in the second. Mainly because I didn't have much possession of the ball during the second half and ran out of steam quickly. I felt that I performed much more sliding tackles in this game than all of the previous matches combined. That said, I played deeper in this game with a more defensive mindset, and that probably set the tone for my poor performance up front. As much as I could attack down the right flank, my crosses did not meet anyone in the box. Also, I need to gain back the confidence I had a year ago to shoot from outside the box.

    2) I've learnt that we need to be adapt well to situations like this. We were missing our captain, two physical presence down the centre, both keepers and regular starters. This led to a huge mix up to the lineup in defence. However, at times like this, we need to keep our head in the game and commit to the role we're given. Focusing on your game is way more important than sprouting nonsensical comments across the field thinking you're helping the team, especially when you're not a top player of your position.

3/4/5) Honestly, we put up a good fight. For a team trimmed to its toes, facing against a confident team trash talking before the match, we were able to equalise with Wen Kai doing what he's good at, latching onto a through pass and calmly finishing with his left leg. However, unfortunate mistakes and lack of focus caused us to concede unnecessary goals. As the stand in captain for this match, I felt that I failed the team once again, not being able to raise the morale and create even more chances in attack.

    6) I feel that the MOTM should go to Farruq. He displayed spirit in the second half as GK and kept his nerves to save a penalty. Although a goal was conceded out of nowhere due to lack of common sense and communication from certain defenders, he caught most of the stray balls and shots, keeping the deficit minimal. Bryan and Wilbur did well as centre backs, using their physical presence to keep the opposition strikers at bay for most of the match. Wen Kai will be a great asset in the future if he can keep up these kind of performances, with Adil and Tobias having the energy and enthusiasm to chase down balls.

  5. 1. Comment on your individual performance

Even though I did not play for the B Div match, I felt that in the short half that I played in the C Div match, I was able to perform well enough to hold the defensive line to prevent the opponent from getting too many goal attempts as to prevent them from scoring. I was unable to perform my best though as I was not feeling too well.

    2. What have you learnt?

From the C Div match, as a player and a spectator I have learnt that no matter how strong an opponent is, if we have good teamwork and communication, we could still win. Though we did not win eventually, it was rather obvious when we took the lead that it was due to good communication that we were able to make a comeback. We lost 2 goals in the end as our communication broke down which led to the lost of 2 goals.

From the B Div match, as a spectator, I learnt that when a weaker goal keeper is played due to the lack of players, the defense should close down opponent attackers to prevent them from shooting as to reduce the chances of loosing goals. Players in the midfield should close down opponent runners who are attempting to play balls through to their attackers. If the attackers do not have the ball, they cannot shoot and the weaker goal keeper will not fall under too much pressure. As the goalkeeper is already weak, having pressure added to him will only cause him to perform even more poorly. This will cause the team to lose goals if the goalkeeper is unable to perform well enough under too much pressure.

    3. Comment on the team's performance

Both teams played really well that day despite having a lack of players and were able to maintain their composure throughout both matches even when we were losing. Even though the results were not favourable to us, our players never gave up hope and played to their best despite the odds. That being said, our teams performed very resiliently.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?

I can keep on working hard and improving my fitness so I can play with the team longer and support the team better during games.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?

I think the upcoming camp would be a good way for us to bond more as a team and incorporate team spirit as team spirit can help us a lot when we are encouraging one another to play better on the field.

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?

I think Farruq was outstanding in his performance. When he played with the C Divs, he was playing calmly and carefully, not making any avoidable mistakes. Afterwards, when he played with the B Divs, he was equally calm when faced with older, larger and more aggressive players. For an inexperienced goalkeeper to be able to keep calm despite these situations is really outstanding.

  6. 1. Comment on your individual performance
To be honest I did really poorly in this match despite scoring a goal. I got the ball so many times, have so much space in front of me to dribble but I somehow lack this energy to just charge forward like my previous match. Maybe it was the 1 hr refereeing gig before this match, or a hamstring and groin injury that caused this lacksture display, but there's no excuse of playing this badly.

    2. What have you learnt?
I learn that space is important. If I had enough drive for the game, I would have easily dribbled past or even take some long range shots against the opponent's team because they play zonal defense which was not really their cup of tea.

    3. Comment on the team's performance
I think we did really poorly collectively because we were out of shape and defenders were too easily outran and outwitted. There's no communication, no support, no cover etc. It was like a battle between David and Goliath except we know that Goliath is going to win for sure.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
For this match I don't think I can help much since I was limpering most of the match, but in future games, I think I would be able to chase long balls and get into good scoring opportunities if I have been getting into good positions. I can also carve out defences and open up the space for my teammates which I did relatively well in the Riverside game.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
For this match, I think we lost not because on fitness, but more of ill-judgements and lack of communication. There were many of a times where players could have passed, could have dribbled, but they got cold feet in the end and made a whoopsie out of themselves. If we work on this during training (composure), I think we are really going to improve leaps and bounds.

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
I think Farruq was the best player w/o question. I don't think there's a need for further elaboration.
