  1. 1) I would rate myself 6.3. Despite hitting two freekicks from similar positions that resulted in 2 goals, one of which is a penalty I converted, I don't think I deserve any praise for my performance on the pitch as vice captain. Knowing that I was on a yellow card, I lashed out and made a late tackle which resulted in a second. I was disappointed and furious with myself knowing that I've hurt the team in many ways. During the second half, I failed to keep the morale up and admit that I was one of those who let their heads drop after the score became 3-2.

    2) I've learnt my mental strength is very weak even though I have the winning mentality. This should not be the case but I felt hopeless chasing the ball from outside the box and not having enough ball time to create even more chances and play my role.

3/4/5) I felt that the team did well in capitalising chances and playing to what Coach expected us to do. However, we need to work on what to do in winning positions. This is not the first time we threw away leads like that. Darius marked his words during the match; a 2 goal lead is nothing and can be turned over very easily. We can work on slowing the pace of the game down (not time wasting) and keeping possession in wise areas, such as the flanks and deep in their half. Having said that, clearences should be solid, no matter if it's a header, volley or ground ball.

    6) I pretty sure Sean deserves the MOTM award with his excellent positioning and never give up attitude. He had some awesome reflex and point blank saves which kept the team in the game. I would also like to thank Darius for constantly reminding us to fight until the very last minute. ODS did well with his solid clearences and Matthias had a much better game compared to previous appearances.

  2. 1. Comment on your individual performance

    6. Although i did not play for long, i intercepted the ball from the halfway line and created an attacking opportunity for the team although i should have taken on the man instead of passing as i was not in a good position to make a pass.

    2. What have you learnt?

Do not get overconfident when you are winning and not to drop your heads down and continue focussing and fighting on whenever we concede. It is important to keep a positive mindset and motivate the team.

    3. Comment on the team's performance

The team was doing great at the start and even at the point of the 3-1 lead but when the 3-2 goal went in, heads started dropping and people started to lose faith in themselves.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?

I would communicate with the team on who and what people are unmarked and i would motivate the team to do their best and not let their heads drop whenever a mistake is made which led to a goal.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?

The team should learn to take first time clearances on the ball whenever they have the chance as the players from other schools are fast and they have good ball control so whenever they get hold onto the ball, they would play the passing game and they can even trick pass a few of our defenders and take a shot which is very dangerous.

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?

I think ODS is the MOTM as he tried his best clearing the ball away whenever he had the chance to and he was one of the people who did not care about the score and focussed on the game and not let his head fall even when we were down 4-3. He still fought on and defended to the best of his abilities.

  3. Comment on your individual performance
Today I felt that I did carry my duty as a center back. I was constantly directing the team in their positions to ensure the defense is stable. I would rate myself a 8/10. I did feel that I improved in my area control and went in to stop the ball more often.
    What have you learnt?
I have learnt that with the help of the defensive mid and the mids to help ensure the opponents are constantly unable to roam in the field, we have a much better chance at preventing them from entering the 6 yard box. Another thing I learnt is that if we can work effectively on the attack by engaging the mids and strikers to maintain possession . We will keep the opponents on their own half which gives us a much more substantial ability to actually score goals.
    Comment on the team's performance
I could see the team performing pretty well. The first half we really concentrated and managed to perform well, but on the second half, although we did put in concentration, but the lack of stamina really proved disastrous.
How can you as an individual help the team?
I think as an individual, I can keep up with the motivation for the team and also make sure that I can clear the ball high and far so that the mids and strikers can obtain it have a chance at goal.
How do you think the team can improve together?
The team can definitely improve with their stamina first and foremost. The mental strength could be strengthen especially near the end when all of us are tired.
Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
I definitely thought that Sean was outstanding. He saved countless amount of balls and did great with goal kicks.

  4. 1. Comment on your individual performance
I think that today, as usual, i did perform slightly better as the game goes by. However at times I was still not confident with my header. I need to overcome this fear and gain this confidence asap.
    2. What have you learnt?
I learnt that by dropping back often and helping out my fullback or the midfield, i can help clear the ball often and help out in the defending. I also need to be more aggresive with the ball.
    3. Comment on the team's performance
The team did quite well after scoring the first goal. Although that goal was their mistake and we took advantage of it, it raised our morale and we defending properly. Clearing dangerous balls and properly marking danger players. However after they scored again to draw, we started dropping. The defenders committed more mistakes that they would not usually make such as clearing the ball properly with the first touch. The defensive midfielders were also no longer tracking back after attacking or marking the danger players. I had to drop into the center of the park and help clearing the balls. I believe that that is the position and role of our DMCs.
    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
I can play with more aggression.Jumping to head or ,like what coach said, just jumping with them and challenging for the ball.
    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
The team can improve together by what Eugene has said in the soccer fb group. We need to shout; we need to communicate; we need to encourage and shout at each other to let everyone hear our voices. However these comments should be positive ones.
    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
I think that Sean stood out today. He saved so many high balls, dipping balls, bottom corner balls and even a penalty(technically speaking). I am truly amazed and proud to have such a goalkeeper in my team:)

  5. This was the first match that I had not been on the first team, however, I understand coach's intentions. From the sidelines, I could observe on what to do if I was brought on, how their star player, the right winger plays. Therefore, when I was brought on at the 20min interval. I could predict which way the opponent was going, I could marked him tightly, except for once when I let him slip off guard. The happy moment came when you could see him being frustrated, not being able to get much of the ball and him being substituted off early in the second half. Thus, this proves how useful and frustrating it can be for the opponent can be if we are able to tightly mark our opponent and stop them from playing their passes.

I believe everyone could see the difference between a positive mentality and negative mentality during the match. When we were winning, we could play our game, string a couple of passes together, and threaten the opponent's goal. However, when we conceded the second goal, it was obvious how the opponent could dominate just because we didn't believe in ourselves. We let our heads drop and thus the opponent could take advantage of that.

We need to stop all those negative comments, I would gladly appreciate it if the team can encourage each other. When we make a mistake, the player himself is already unhappy, giving negative comments will not help and just pull the team down. Furthermore, I know that coach want us to be more agressive in our tackles, but it will greatly be appreciated if we stop giving away free kicks and getting the yellow cards. We are already going to get a player suspended and having more is not going to be fun, and it will be a burden to the team.

While we managed to lead the game and score, let's not be too over confident, bear in mind that our goals had 2 that came from penalties, let's focus and concentrate on the game ahead.

  6. 1. Comment on your individual performance
I did not get a opportunity to play but was with the team in spirits :)

    2. What have you learnt?
Communication is important to keep the team's morale high and maintain their fighting spirit.

    3. Comment on the team's performance
Although we were down by 1 goal early in the match, the penalty was a critical point as it brought the team's morale higher, which eventually led to a 2 goal lead for SST. However the outcome was extremely disappointing as the tides were turned in the last 15 minutes or so in the second half.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
Provide encouragements and feedback to the team in order to keep them in shape.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
The team should learn to communicate with each other effectively and all the time as it helps keep the team mentally fit for the challenges ahead.

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
Sean is unquestioningly one of the most outstanding players in terms of their performance. He made countless number of saves from the deadly corners from the opponents and is also a player with high confidence in himself. Keep up the good work!

  7. 1. Comment on your individual performance
I feel that I performed well during the first half and when we were leading. However, I struggled to preserve till the end and let my guard down during towards the end.

    2. What have you learnt?
I have learnt that we must not be over confident, even when we are leading and the other team might feel easy to beat and that they are losing hope.

    3. Comment on the team's performance
In my opinion, the team's performance was good during the first and the beginning of the second half when we were leading. However, it might be due to over confidence, we were not holding up a good defence and they started to take shots and were starting to close up the score line. We then felt defeated thus leading to many heads dropping.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
As an individual I should be on my toes and mark the opponents better by keeping up with their pace and staying close to them, not allowing them any free space to dribble or to shoot.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
The team can improve my communicating better and encouraging each other even in the last few minutes or when we are winning. Communication would also boost our teams morale and would keep our winning mentality.

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
Sean undoubtedly was outstanding as he saved many potshots and also could see that he had the spirit to win and was commanding the team well.

  8. I felt that i made a few mistakes in the first half by keep staying focused on the right wing. I did not read the game properly and kept focusing on one man at all times. Overall, i felt that marking the right wing was a tough job but i did some good tackles to prevent him from having a cross and creating an attacking chance. luckily for me, the mistakes i made, did not concede a goal. I have learnt that the game is not over the moment you are winning. When we are losing . we should never give up and keep on trying. eventually, we will have a chance and if we seize it we will be able to get a victory. As an individual, i feel that i still need to work on my stamina a lot . The right winger costantly made me run around to make me loose my energy quickly. I feel that the team can improve by working on communicating especially in corners. I believe that Sean did well in making many great saves. he kept communicating with the defence to tell us where our blind spots are

  9. I think that I didn't play as well this match. I think that I have a slightly better headstart, not as slow as the one against tanglin. However, I did not have a good finnish. I was beaten at the last moment where the Center attacking outran me, making the final goal. I think that it was bad that I did not close him down fast enough. His number was 8 and he ran between the space me and darius had made. Unlike the Tanglin match, i was morally down at the last 10 minutes. I'm not sure why but I believe that this match was a little different.
I think that the strategy they had played against us was pretty flawless in showing us how bad our first touch is. They took chance to hit the ball up, if we could have reached it first, we would have won. I think that we have done great the first half, instead of the second. I think we could have won this match. I think that Sean did a great job this time as he tried to save every ball ^^

  10. 1. Comment on your individual performance
I think I played well, communicating with the defence, playing the ball to the wings properly, successfully making through passes and even making a good run leading to our first goal.
    2. What have you learn?
We can actually win. Mental strength is very important as we can see from this game. We just need to keep our morales high and the idea of winning in our minds and we will be able to succeed and make that a reality.
    3. Comment on the team's performance
The team's performance was slow at first and we let a goal in but I'm impressed at how scoring a goal changed everything so quickly. Heads that were dropped now had expressions of determination, people that were walking were now chasing for the ball and putting presure. From the time they started the ball we pushed for it. Putting so much pressure and keeping the ball in their half leading to many good plays and the penalties.
    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
I could help some of our teammates work on timing runs, resulting in an advantage for our team and leading to a higher chance at goal.
    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
We really need to work on supporting each other. In both morale and actual supporting. Their comeback was mostly due to the open spaces in our defense and poor covering was the cause of this. If we can improve in this area, we can slow the attackers down and reduce the chance of them scoring a goal.
I want you guys to reflect on this game. We were so close to a victory and we blew that chance away. How did that feel? Even the New Town coach said it was our game. Are we really going to let this happen again? We have 3 more games and we can determine the final score. I want everyone to put their best effort for the remaining matches. No regrets!

  11. I felt that I did rather well in this match. I made quite a few runs forward and these runs led to me scoring a goal and also earning a penalty. I also tried to approach the ball more and win the goals kicks and throw ins. I also headed the ball much more compared to previous matches. However, I should track back more often and cover the right back. I feel that this match shows that we no longer are a team with no teeth. This match was prove that we have the ability to score and win matches. The only thing lacking was our mental strength to get across the finish line. Conceding 3 goals in the last 20 minutes is really disappointing. I felt that the team's morale went down more and more after each goal conceded. Although the last 20 minutes were very disappointing, the first 60 minutes were much better. Many of the players were pressuring the opponent and not allowing them too much space to work with. This led to them committing fouls and it also led to the first goal where Mitchel pressured the keeper which led to the keeper losing the ball and the ball bounced to my feet which I just tapped in. The pressuring also led to the penalties that we won and converted.

    2. What have you learnt?
I learnt that we should not grown overconfident or lose our winning attitude if when the game is going in our favor, as it could just as easily slip out of our hands. Apart from physical abilities, our mental strength as a team is very important too, as without it we have already lost the game.

    3. Comment on the team's performance
The team, although slow at first, really got into action after the first goal was conceded. The team gave an amazing winning attitude and mentality that eventually helped us to push to a 3 -1 lead. However after that I feel that our team slackened on our mentality, thus we were not whole-heartedly playing the game anymore, which eventually lead to a lost that should have been our win. The Team did pretty good at attacking too, as we managed to keep the opposing team in their half with our attack a couple of times. We also managed to muck most of the attacking players pretty well.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
It does not matter if you are on the field or on the bench, no one in the team should give up mentally. We also need to greatly improve on our high ball control, as there were many high balls in the game that we had given away due to poor ball control.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
Everyone should always support and encourage one another, thus we need more communication in the team. Improving our ball control and stamina to help us better in the game. Also, we all need to improve on our mentality to never give up

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
The MOTM was definitely Sean. He saved countless of goals, most of them very good shots by the opponents and he did go for every ball. His attitude also managed to push many of us who had already started to lower our heads.

  13. 1. Comment on your individual performance
Against Yusof Ishak I think I started pretty brightly but dipped relatively quickly as the game wears on. I should have been more disciplined and run faster to chase for long punts down the field. I should not have let the defender's antics (kicking etc.) to affect my performance. When I realise the defender wasn't as skilled as I thought and was merely putting on a fierce front, it was too late. If coach hasn't subbed me off I might be able to go past him if I was given a chance again.

I should have taken my chances too when it came to me. There was a time when I had the ball and had just the center back to deal with but i overestimated his ability and stumbled as I figured out what tricks to use. I should have been more composed and astute and know where to move to take a shot. There was also an event whereby I dribbled past the last two defenders and was left with no one but the goalkeeper in my sight, but the shot was so lacking in power and height and the goalkeeper ended up diving quick enough to get it. If i scored the goal, I can bet my life we would be the ones winning that day.

    2. What have you learnt?
I have learnt that composure is important. Even though I've looked up twice and looked at the ball before I took a shot (i was so confident it was going to be a goal), the boot may have other ideas, so it'll be better if the balls were hit with more conviction in future games. I also learned how to evade the offside trap and chase down long balls.

    3. Comment on the team's performance
In this match our team played pretty well when we were leading but after the 2nd goal was scored (YI's), nobody had answers to what to do next. We were totally lost. Everyone looked disoriented and unsure of their roles.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
I should take my chances when it falls to me. I should also control my emotions better and not be afraid to face up against the players who threatened me during the match.

  14. 1. Comment on your individual performance
To be completely honest with myself, I played very well today and my performance is one that I consider to be the best in a very, very long time. I tried my best to command the defence and play more aggressively during this match, so as to reduce the chances the opponents had on 1v1 situations. However, regardless of however well I think I played, I know that there were a couple of critical mistakes that I made that cost us our victory.

    2. What have you learnt?
I learnt that good positioning and communication is vital in order to contain and deter the opponent's attacks on our goal. Many a times, mostly during the second half, Yusof Ishak blatantly exploited our weaknesses, high balls. They continually pumped high balls into our half in order to beat our defence. However, that was not the case in the first half. In the first half, we managed to successfully intercept and quickly break down their attacks.

    3. Comment on the team's performance
For most of the match, I could say that the team played excellently in both terms of attack and defence. For the first time ever, we managed to completely dominate and contain Yusof Ishak within their own half for majority of the first half. We were quick to cut off their attacks and strike back with a counter attack of our own. This really helped to tire out the Yusof Ishak defence as it was evident that it grew weaker as we continued to pressure them. However, I believe that in the second half, we grew overconfident and complacent. Yusof Ishak took advantage of this and quickly pushed us back into our own half. With each goal that we conceded, our moral dropped. I have to admit that I was quite angered at myself when I let in the final goal as I really thought that I could have prevented this from happening. I'm quite sure that I'm not the only one who feels that way.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
To continually assist the team in our efforts and quests for our first win, I must try my best to recreate and emulate my performance in this match for the rest of the season. This way, the team can be assured that they have a goalkeeper that they need not worry too much about. Also, I've said this time and again but I should train my goal kicks. This will allow Bryan to open up into another position, hence, creating another avenue in which I can start the play.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
I think that our greatest weakness is our mindset and mental attitude. To be truthful, the best way to improve our complacent mindset is to actually suffer together as an entire team. This will train us to be mentally strong and prepared to make sacrifices for the team regardless the end result. This in the end will allow us to walk away from the pitch knowing that we have put in our best efforts.

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
Personally, I feel that I do not deserve due credit and instead, the whole team should be complimented for our outstanding performance today. After all, without our defenders, midfielders & strikers contributing their best efforts to the result we have attained today, I am quite sure that I would have been much less motivated during the match. I believe that as long as we believe that we can achieve our first win and put in our maximum effort to work for that result. We will achieve it.

  15. 1. I have underperformed as a striker once again in this match, and I was positioned in the right flank in the second half, and that was new territory for me, as I am not used to tracking back to defend and then bringing the ball down the flank to attack.
    2. I have learnt to manipulate the opponent defenders by running around restlessly in our attacking third so as to give them pressure, like during the first goal, where no one was particularly marking Mitchel as I was pushing my back against the opponent defenders, and in the end Mitchel was free and managed to help bring in our first non-set piece goal of this season. I have also learnt how to win penalties for our team. For the second penalty that was awarded to us, I was already constantly pushed by the opponent left back, but I just kept running and running and I only fell in the penalty area (luckily) even though I was hoping to just get a free kick in the attacking third.
    3. The team did really well in the first half, and the attacks we had were much better than the previous games. We actually managed to get 2 penalties, and I managed to bring the ball to the attacking third during the second half when I played as a right midfielder.
    4. I can help by tracking back more quickly and marking more effectively, as it was my first time playing in that position, and I was only used to playing a striker, where my job is just to score goals.
    5. We can improve if we actually work on our clearing. Many times I've seen our defenders missing the ball when they try to kick it in the air, and I believe this issue is caused by their eye-leg coordination, and it can be solved if we actually practice.
    6. I would say Jia Le performed the best, as he managed to help with building up the attack, and he even scored a penalty, even though he got his second yellow card in that game, and he managed to keep calm and composed in the second half even though he knew he would be receiving a one-match suspension.

  16. 1. Comment on your individual performance
I think that I did good enough but just borderline good. I was running and supporting my teammates but was not doing well in giving good firm passing to them when they are open. I was marking my man well in the first half and most of the second half but then, he started to move to the defense line. So, I had to change my man and let niklaus keep an eye on him
    2. What have you learnt?
I have learnt that being ahead is a luxury and if we dont defend it, the opponent is bound to steal it. We were weak in the last minutes of the match as we were playing like our old selves, clearing the ball to the side or just sending weak clears up front for the other team to get the ball again
    3. Comment on the team's performance
I think that we were very bonded, playing more passing to bring the ball up, although not as much as I'd like, But more importantly, we moved up as a team. So, the Defensive Mid was supporting the flanks and the CAM was helping as well. We were also defended mostly well in communicating with each other and marking a man. But all this was gone in the last minutes of the game.
    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
I think that if I could have supported the attack more, I think that I could have increased the scoreline. We had some chances but we also threw away some. If we can be more bonded and made more passes I think that we could have made more chances
    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
I think that if we can train on getting the ball from the defense to the attack effectively, not by clearing the ball and hoping it lands near one of our player, we could create a lot of chances to score. Currently, our style of playing is very dependent on either luckor the aggression of the defensive mid to get the ball. If, from the start, we dont lose the ball, I think that we can play it to the attack and give us chance to score.
    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
Sean. I need not say anymore. He was outstanding in his performance. He saved a lot of goals and even though he let in three goals in the last minutes, I think that he has been playing extremely well for the full 80 minutes
