  1. 1. Comment on your individual performance
I definitely wasn't in top form, given how I was exhausted easily compared to in the past. Also, my concentration wasn't there, so I misjudged the bounce of the opponent's throw-in, and it happened that my arm touched the ball, leading to a penalty.
    2. What have you learnt?
I need to work on my fitness during this off-season, as well as to regain my focus and build chemistry with my teammates.
    3. Comment on the team's performance
The team tried hard, despite this being the first match of the new season. We chased after every ball and we had many chances to score. As Coach said, the fact that there were offsides show that we are doing well. We will need to learn to beat the offside trap.
    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
I can try to push myself to do my best whenever I am running or playing soccer. I can also try to focus on what I am doing and not be distracted.
    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
As a team, we can try to play games related to our positions, e.g. defending players should be practising defence-related skills, attacking players can try to practise dribbling skills, etc.
    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
I think everyone tried hard, but those who were outstanding were Bryan, Jia Wei, as well as Ashiq and Khairul. Bryan had many tricks up his sleeve, while Jia Wei could dribble past several players at once. Khairul made many good clearances, and Ashiq had beautiful tackles.

  2. Individual:
-As a captain, I did not command/motivate the team enough and have thus let my team down. I believe that with experience, I'd improve as a captain and lead the team to victory! :)
-I also missed a few good chances. (One-on-one & Free-kick) I need to practise more on more free-kicks and perhaps score one in the future.
-Halfway through the first third, I almost passed out. I think this is because I overexerted myself before that. I'd remember to take note of my own stamina before that.
-As a striker, I should have trusted in the defence and stayed with the last man instead of helping out at the back as this could have resulted in a few more chances at goal.
-I also think I lack the pace I need as a footballer.

    Team's performance:
-Personally, I think we got complacent or perhaps over-relaxed after I scored the opener. Our defence became really weak and had holes everywhere. We were really vulnerable and this led to our downfall--them scoring four goals. Also, our positioning and organisation at the back were really bad and we need to work on those.
-For the attack, I felt that we didn't really threaten the opponents' defence although we had many good opportunities at goal. The only few people who rally participated in the attack were Jia Wei, Dion and I. I guess this is because we need more people covering our backs for us. If we could improve on our defence, more people could attack.

    Those who stood out:
    -Dion
This is the first time I'm seeing him play in a match and I must say I'm quite impressed. He can run really fast and has good technique with the ball.
    -Jia Wei
Jia Wei's dribbling skills were exceptional and his through passes were deadly. I feel that we can work really well together and I hope we can play together again.
    -Ravern
Ravern was really important in the game as he had the experience that most of our players did not. He could be relied at defence and is relatively fast too. He stopped many attacks and did very well at clearing the ball upfield.
    -Lewis
Being a beginner at keeping, he has made amazing one-on-one saves during the game. I was impressed. Without those vital saves, our team might've lost hope even before the second third started and personally, I think he was the Man Of the Match.
-Everyone else did a good job too but I'm just naming the few who really stood out in my opinion :)

To improve together, I think we should play together more frequently as this should improve the team's chemistry. (Maybe during recess?)

Once again, good effort guys! We'll win the next match :)

  3. 1. Comment on your individual performance

I think personally that i performed fairly well, as I managed to make a few good tackles, but I think that I did not push myself to my limit as I did not play for the full match but only played for half of the match as i was too exhausted.

    2. What have you learnt?

I have learnt to persevere and not give in easily as I requested not to be put in the second part of the match as I felt that i was too exhausted but at the end of the match I was not as tired as I expected myself to be and I regretted not taking the chance and play for the second part of the game.

    3. Comment on the team's performance

I think the team performed well even though we lost considering it was our first game in the new c division and for a lot of us it was our first match. Together we managed to crate a few chances but were not confident enough to take the chances to score goals.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?

I think I can improve my fitness as I personally think that I am not fit enough as I had not enough stamina to play for the ful match, and could not manage to help out muy tem for team for the full match.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?

I think the team can improve by improving our fitness as compared to other schools we are not so fit. We should focus on improving our attacking as we are still not very good at attacking.

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?

I think that Lewis stood out the most. Despite letting in a few goals, he managed to save many shots during the first period of the game and was outstanding even though this was his first match.

  4. 1. Comment on your individual performance

I felt that my own performance was not really that well, neither was it that bad. I did not really communicate with my team members well mostly because I did not know their names in the first place and I barely knew anyone whom I could called out to for the ball. Also, my stamina ran out very quickly so towards the end of the first third, I was very tired.

    2. What have you learnt?

I have learnt that I need to call out to my teammates more so that we can push the ball to the other half very quickly, and for this to happen I will have to learn the names of my teammates first. I have also learnt that I need to have more determination even though my stamina is not that good.

    3. Comment on the team's performance

As a whole team, I felt that the team needed a lot more communication between each other. The team played well in a sense that they dribbled well and passed the ball well, however, the players kept passing to the few players in the team. This resulted in the other players not getting to touch the ball, and also the opponents knew who to mark after a while into the game.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?

As an individual, I can help to bring back certain players into their positions. With this, I can help to communicate with the players that are playing in the similar positions as me so that we can pass the ball around us. I can also help by improving my spacial awareness as I did not make use of the space I had around me.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?

The team can improve by playing the ball to certain players that are open. This is because sometimes, some of the players keep playing the ball to only some of the key players, even though they are marked heavily. The team also needs to train up on their fitness level as I could see that some players after the first third were really tired.

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?

I felt that Clemens stood out a lot during the game. Even though he did not get to play much, he guided me a lot during the first third. Also, he has a great command over the whole defense and the team too. He also was very composed and could very easily command the team around. However, he did not get to play much after the first third.

  6. 1.
I was not putting any effort in the starting of the first third. I was just walking and not chasing for the ball. Afterwards, I chased for the ball after a challenge and dribbled it. I continued doing it naturally afterwards. I was only short of breath only in my first run. I started to get used to the game and gained more confidence as I proceed to the other thirds. I had some good opportunities to score but I had missed all of them. I have the habit of looking down at the ball when shooting. I duck whenever someone plays a long ball. When my team mates are running wanting to get my pass. I am not good at making a quick estimation of where I should pass the ball to him so that he receives it properly without having to turn back awkwardly.

    2.
-Looking up to aim the shot.
-Passing some distance in front of the running player.
-Do not take too big of a touch when there is open space to dribble.

    3.
The team was fairly quiet except for some people. The defenders did their best in most challenges. They made slide tackles which were clean. They made good clearance too. The midfielders did well to support both the attacking and defensive positions.

    4.
I would try to communicate more with them. The players dribbling are mostly focused on the ball so they would not be fully aware of their surroundings. So you can help them by telling them who is open, that there is an opponent at the back, there is open space to dribble etc.

    5.
-The right midfielder (Dion Low) was really good in supporting the striker. He ran into space to make it easier for the striker to pass.
-The striker for the full game (Bryan Goh) was really good at dribbling. He passed many defenders easily with fancy tricks and communicates well with team mates.
-The defender (Ravern) made really good and strong clearance. He made strong tackles.

  7. 1.As my thigh had been injured before the game , i thought that my performance could have been better as the injury hindered me from performing at my best. I thought that i could have run more , and played better by having better control and good teamwork. I want to keep improving and overall i enjoyed my time as a midfielder !

2.I have learnt that SST United (C div) is not very good and that we have alot of room for improvement but for our first match against a more experienced team , i would say that we did very well.

    3.
We did pretty well for a team with not much chemistry and i really thought we had some great chances that with experience can be converted into goals. We could have communicated more though as the defenders did not communicate much other than Clemens shouting out loudly.

    4.
Even though i was put as an attacking midfielder , i could not resist running back to help the team defend so i hope that maybe i can improve my stamina and my speed so that i can become a more versatile defender and play as a midfielder that can run anywhere and work on the defense as it was quite weak. I have to work on my speed , pace , pushing and running down the flanks and cutting into the penalty box to take shots as those were the areas that i felt i did not do well in. I have to work on my communication and aerial control skills and work on my crossing and receiving of crosses to become a better attacker.
    5.
I think that the team can improve firstly in our area of defence as we made many mistakes in that area. We have to work on our aerial control as that was how we lost many balls and conceded goals. We need to learn how to counteract the offside trap. We need to learn how to utilize space around us so that we have space to pass and move , giving us opportunities and chances. We need to learn how to spread out and make sure the enemies do not out run us , improve our clearing and ball control skills.
    6.
I felt that Bryan Goh and Jia Wei did a very good job of creating space and making opportunities for us to score goals although we could not convert. They made many great dribbles and got past many players , and i think that they were a strong attack force. Dion did a very good job too of running down the flank and supporting Bryan and Jia wei so i thought that was good too.

  8. 1.Comment on your individual performance
    - I thought I did better in the first third than the last two although I only played half of the last third. I cleared the ball quite a few times but I was already exhausted during the 2nd third. I did not pay attention a few times in the game and left some players unmarked. I was also flat-footed most of the time.

    2.What have you learnt?
    - I learnt to be aware and stay vigilant all the times to look out for players who need to be marked. I also need to be on my toes more as when the opponents start running, I can accelerate faster to catch up with them.

    3.Comment on the team's performance
    - I think we were complacent after Bryan scored although Ravern warned us not to be too complacent. As a result, the opponents had chances to score and they did not waste them. There was also 2 penalties given to the opponent as there was a tackle and a handball. We should be more careful while playing.

4.How can you as an individual help the team?
    - I could try my best to clear to the sides and communicate with fellow defenders. I could also improve on my fitness so I can catch up with the attackers who are very fast.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
    - The defenders can stop crowding around in the penalty box when only one or two attackers are there. Some of us can also work on our ball control as Me and Wei Feng tried to control the ball in the air but we handballed instead. We could also work on our fitness and endurance as some of us were very tired and could not continue playing.

6.Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
    - I think Lewis, Bryan Goh and Jia Wei were amazing. Firstly, Lewis did a good job stopping balls considering this was his first match (I think). Bryan and Jia Wei were very skilled and kept possession of the ball for a long time. Jia Wei had over-the-top dribbling skills and left the defenders puzzled. He had quick reactions and knew how to avoid the defenders. Bryan Goh had scored an excellent goal too.

  9. 1. Comment on your individual performance
I felt that i was not really in top performance and was not focusing enough.Although i may have cleared a number of balls and started the goal, i gave a way some balls that lead to a goal by NUS.As it was also the first time i was playing as a Right Back,i think i did fairly well for my debut.
    2. What have you learnt?
I have learnt to stay aware of my surroundings as during the match, i was actually listening to the seniors telling me of my surroundings.I have to not be flat-footed and be on my toes to catch up to my opponents if we were to lose the ball.
    3. Comment on the team's performance
As it was our first match together, i think we did fairly well, we had a lot of chances at goal but i think we needed to communicate more with each other especially the defenders to the midfielders.I think to have 2 penalties is not acceptable and we might have to practice more in defender.
    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
I can help to clear the ball quicker and prevent the opponents from entering the penalty box or scoring.I could try to increase my fitness to allow me to sprint faster to catch up with my opponents.
    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
WE need to learn to not bunch up together. We should spread out to allow more area of the field to be covered. We could also practice in our aerial abilities as it would be helpful for the strikers at set pieces and defenders.WE could also improve on our dribbling skills and try to prevent giving away set-pieces which is our weakness from what i see in most part of the game.
    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
I think Lewis , Bryan , Jia Wei and Dion were great.Lewis made a couple of amazing and critical saves. His shot stopping was good and intimidated most of the NUS forwards and midfielders in the first half.Bryan and Jia Wei were like a tag-team combo with jia wei dribbling and Bryan finising off. They both were able to win and keep balls.Jia Wei's Dribbing skills were top class.Bryan also scored a goal which had raised our morale.

  10. 1. Comment on your individual performance
Unfortunately,I did not play in the friendly match,so for this section I do not have much to say for this section.
    2. What have you learnt?
Although I did not play in the match,I watched the team play.I have learnt as usual that communication is key.The defence has to tighten up,as well as to work on the strength and marking of enemies. But overall, the team did do well, there were decent clearances, good passes.
    3. Comment on the team's performance
The team did do well, however there were a couple of mistakes that caused us to concede. However Farruq did prevent the ball from entering the goal during a penalty. The team unfortunately got too complacent after Bryan scored a goal.
    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
I can try to cheer up the team when we concede,or I can try to give weaker player tips on how to better themselves.I can also work on my weaknesses, like my stamina.I can give my chances to play to weaker players to let them develop themselves.
    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
The team can have team bonding sessions,so we can play with better "chemistry", and the team might be able to work tightly, and as a team.
    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
Bryan Goh,he scored the first goal and that really helped boost the team's confidence.

  11. 1. Comment on your individual performance
I think that I did not clear the ball fast enough and was not fast enough to support the strikers while they are near me. I think I have not done very well.

    2. What have you learnt?
I have learnt to work with my teammates and we must communicate in order to pass well.

    3. Comment on the team's performance
I think the whole team did quite well, but we need to work on teamwork and communication in order to gain possesion of the ball.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
I can be more alert of the surroundings and act fast to clear the ball or pass it to someone.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
I think we can be more bonded and can play with a better teamwork so as to work together as a team.

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?
Bryan- He scored the first goal against NUS High and dribbled past the defenders with exceptional skills.

Jia Wei- He supported Bryan very well, and could make his way past several opponents before passing the ball to Bryan for shooting.

Louis- He made amazing saves. Without him, we would be at a great loss and be trashed very badly.

  12. 1. Comment on your individual performance

I think that my performance was normal, and I think that I could have done much better. I tried to be productive in the second third, but I realised that it was going nowhere, so I decided to stay in the midfield and help the defence. I also realised that I was not good at judging high balls and will continue to work on that.

    2. What have you learnt?

I learnt that we needed to spread out and not crowd in one area because when we do that, we are letting the opponents have more space. I also learnt that we need to time our runs so that we would not be called offside. Lastly, I learnt that we must not be complacent as after Bryan Goh scored the goal, the defence became more relaxed and that resulted in conceding and eventually leading to our fall.

    3. Comment on the team’s performance

As a team, we tried hard, the defenders were usually trying to dispossess the attacker when he got the ball in our area, but we did not apply much pressure to the defence of the opponent, so they got very comfortable on the ball. We should also be more careful, as we had 3 handballs, 2 of them resulting in penalties and 1 which the referee did not see.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?

As an individual, I can tell some of my teammates to get back to their positions, as sometimes, they tend to go into the attack to support the team, resulting in a hole in the defence. I can also cover my teammates if they go forward to ensure that the defence is not broken.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?

I think that we can have more training sessions that involves building teamwork so that when we play with better understanding of each other. We could also do more 1 v 1 situations as I feel that the defenders need more experience in that kind of situations.

    6. Who do you think were outstanding in their performance today? What made them stand out?

I think that Lewis stood out, because he made a number of good saves, and despite letting in a few goals, I think he did well for his first match.

  13. 1. Comment on your individual performance.
I believed that I could improve as for my first match, I was quite panicky when someone passed me the ball. Because of this, I constantly made small mistakes with my footwork, passing, shooting (etc.) I think that I just need more self-confidence in myself in the future. there was one moment where I was in a good position to shoot, but because of the pressure I put on myself, my legs turned to jelly and I took to long to shoot, the opposition deflected the ball and I was thoroughly disappointed.
    2. What have you learnt?
Personally, I have learnt not to panic and get scared and to be confident when with the ball. I have learnt that it is alright to make mistakes and that I should not worry to much, especially since that was only a practice match. But as a group, I learnt that when we spread out and make use of the empty space, our team might be more effective. I have also learnt, form what I saw during the first third of the match, that we should not get too proud as we got complacent after Bryan Goh scored and the opposition then proceeded to own us.
    3. Comment on the team performance.
Frankly, I think that for our first match we have already done quite well, not very, but not bad, although we lacked communication skills and everyone was gravitating towards the ball, and not marking the other players. The whole team was randomly fighting and clearing the ball, like how we play during recess in Primary School. There was chaos and not a lot sense of teamwork.
4.How can you as an individual help the team?
I could pass more and be more aware of my surroundings. I could also ask some of our defenders to mark players if they forget to.
    5. I think that we need to build on our teamwork and our passing, not just how we pass, but where we pass it to, as from what I saw, a lot of us including me were not really thinking when we passed. There was no real plan.
    6. Personally, I think that Louis and Dion did well. Dion created many opportunities Bryan Goh to score by passing well to him and he also helped the Right Side to defend several times. Louis also did well as he made several saves which were critical and as well astounding. Although he let in 4 goals, it was not really his fault. To me, he already did pretty well.
