  1. 1. I would give myself a 2 because i feel that I did not defend properly and could not chase down the opposing flanks. I also could not read the game well enough to see that a through ball was going to be passed thus I could not intercept it. During the second half I marked my man and applied more pressure on them as compared to the first half. I could have done a few goal line saves but I was not fast enough because I was not on my toes.

    2. I learnt that even if the opponent is faster and fitter than you, you should not give up and instead should try and keep up with him. Also, even if we are down a few goals, we should not hang our heads but should look to equalize as soon as possible. Our mentality after letting in the first few goals is what let to our downfall soon after.

    3. I think the team communicated a little more as compared to the last match. But even so, we have a lot to improve.

    4. I can provide more support to the flanks as I am a full back. I should also have more confidence when I have the ball so that I can be an option to pass to whenever my team mate is being pressurized.

    5. The team should have a positive attitude during the match and stop being distracted by other things. The team should also put in their 200% in the match so that we won't get thrashed double digits.

    6. I think Bennett should be the man-of-match because he did some important tackles and improved since the last match. He contained the opponent instead of just rushing to get the tackle, unlike the previous match.

  2. 1. I think I would give myself a 5 as I made a mistake in the match and it resulted a goal which is not a positive thing. I think that the things I had done well will be that I did not commit that fast as I had more experience and I defended well when were down with one man when choon wee was injured and we had no more subs to be played in the match.

    2. I had learn about how a centre defend mid should play in the match and how CDM should command the fullbacks if they are not at the proper position. I had also learn that I should assist the strikers if needed and help when taking corners at both sides of the field.

    3. I think that the team had more communication and we also defended well when we were down with one man as we improved more in the second half when we were ask to defend properly instead of having loopholes and letting the opponent score more. Even though we reached double digits which is not a proud thing but I think that we had bonded a little more when Choon Wee was down.

    4. I think that I can help to defend the centre as I am playing as a centre defending mid and I also think that I can help to provide more chances for the wings to push down example ; I can pass to Dion to get more chances of scoring.

    5. I think that we should not think about our score and continue to perform our best and we should not let the moral of the team go down as if we let the team's moral down, we will lose. Another thing is that I think we should not fear the opponent as if you haven played and you fear them, you already lost half of the match.

    6. I think that Jia Le should be the man of the match as he performed well as a defender in the second half and he was trying his best to perform well and bring the moral of the team up even though he was not the captain on that day.

  3. 1. Rate your performance today from 1 to 10 and justify your rating

I would rate myself 1 or 2 mainly because I did not really played my best after we conceded a few goals. After conceding the goals, I seldom dropped back to help defend, and after defending, I would not help in the attack. This all came down to my mentality. I needed to not let the score line affect my mentality and I should always play to my best. I did apply what coach had taught me to do mainly because I was very rushed when the ball was being played down my side. From there, I need to learn how to compose myself before, during and after the match.

    2. What did you learn as a player/spectator from the match today?

As a player, I have learnt that composure is everything during the match, else your performance would be affected very badly. I have also learnt to not let the score line affect my mentality and just play the game. As a spectator, I have learnt that putting pressure on the opponent will lead them to make mistakes. Also, I have learnt that I have to persevere and chase the player down when he has the ball.

    3. Do you think the team did well today?

I think the captain of the team did a lot of morale boosting after letting in one or two goals at the start. The team also persevered a lot more compared to the previous game in a sense that during the second half, every player chased after each ball and gained possession.

    4. How can you help the team to improve?

I can help my knowing when to drop back to defend and also know when to push up to help in the attack as a right mid. While defending, I need to improve in my marking as I could barely mark the player that I was defending. While attacking, I need to run into bigger spaces so that passes can be made for scoring opportunities.

    5. What do you think the team can do together to improve?

The team can train their mentality together to always keep their morale up, despite the score line. From there, they can train in knowing what to do at certain points of the match like knowing when to drop back and knowing when to push up for attack.

    6. Who do you think is the man of the match today and justify your selection

I think that there should not be any man of the match as everyone committed mistakes throughout the game. There are also lots of room for improvement.

  4. I would rate myself a 1 at best. This is because my performance for this match was really poor and could use alot of improvements. One of the mistakes I made for the match was that my clearance were very weak, it is also inaccurate and I keep passing to the opponents. This also applies to the goal kicks I took in Farruq's place. Another one of the mistakes I made was that I was too slow. Everytime the opponents gets past the full backs, they would also outrun me as well. The third mistake I made was that I got tired too easily for some reason. It was either because I was really tired from NTU camp or it was really hot during the match. Probably both of them were the reason. The Fourth mistake I made during the match was that I did not communicate effectively with the defence, especially Chan Hong(Raven)and the CDM. There would always be a gap in the center where the opponents exploited numerous times.

As a player, I learned that I must always train to keep myself fit. Also, I must keep up practising in order to improve instead of deproving. Also, I learned the importance of speed in a soccer match, especially for my position as a Center Back. I would always need to be able to cover our full backs. Something else I learned is that I must communicate effectively with my players, and the importance of teamwork. During the match, Choon Wee got injured and had to be taken out. And due to the rules of the match, we were short of 1 player. From this, I learned that we must be able to adapt to situations during a match.

I think the team did not do well at all for this match. I am just going to point out the mistakes of some players.(Do not feel discouraged, just strive to improve)Raven, he was not covering well for the full backs. He also did not feel the least sign of regret when he committed a mistake. Farruq, had a bad attitude after conceding some goals, lost temper and just kept aimlessly sending balls forward. Yan Zheng, bad temper(against team mates), not aggressive in attacking.

To improve, the team needs to improve on their attitude and mentality. We must keep on fighting hard until the final whistle blows.

No one should be the man of the match today, although Bennett shows signs of vast improvement in terms of fitness.

  5. 1) I would rate myself 5.3. I did not turn up for most of the first half when we did not have possession of the ball although I would say I did quite well tracking the opponent's right back. 80% of the time when I had the ball, I did not manage to release it in the end/shot off target. I only managed to perform 1 through pass as a left winger to Pides and I find this unacceptable being a player with certain calibre.

    2) I've learnt that being in a team formed from different levels of skill and playing style can be difficult to adapt. During this year's B division tournament, I was mainly playing as a CAM, spraying passes from the centre of the park and playing through balls to the striker whenever possible. However, these 2 starting games in the Delta League has pushed me to become more of a winger and sometimes a fullback. I honestly think that playing as Left Back only limits the damage done to the team and does not cultivate my potential as a playmaker. I'm fine with playing as a winger, particularly on the left as I love to dribble and cut in to shoot, but occasionally receiving the ball once every 10 minutes isn't the best feeling in the world.

3/4/5) I felt that the team had a mediocre performance in the first half from our standards. We only turned up the tempo in the second (like the previous game) mainly due to conditioning and the opponent subbing in their reserves. As emphasized many times, it is important to keep our heads up throughout the game and communicate effectively as a team. These are the basics of getting out of a double digit trashing, and earning a respectable scoreline. I personally think that Coach's decision to play a 'no striker' formation pushed our mentality to defend and uphold damage limitation as our priority.

    6) I think the MOTM award should go to Timothy as he did well as a captain. It was not easy to keep our heads in the game especially when it is an extremely hot day and goals were flowing quickly in the first half. He managed to do so and did his best to spur the team on. I believe that is commendable and deserves recognition, not to mention being a role model for us to follow.

  6. I would rate myself a 3 as I only could play for the first 30 minutes. I was playing CDM and I was not very comfortable in the position but I cannot use that as an excuse for poor performance. I was too committed a lot of times and got beaten easily. Although I made a few interceptions, I still think I did quite badly because I was not covering the defence properly. As a player and a spectator, I learnt that pressuring the opponent is very important as pressuring them can make them make mistakes eventually and we can regain possession. I think the team did not did too good for the first half but during the second half, the team pressure the opponent throughout and had a few attacking chances, which was a good performance. I think I should improve on my stamina so that I can run back to defend and run forward to support the attack more the next time I play as a CDM. The mentality of the team should be trained so that even then we are 2 or 3 goals down, we will still continue to play hard and fight for every ball. The team should also play the same way as they did during the match. Pressuring the opponent continuously might cause them to lose control of the ball. I think Jia Le was the most hardworking player in the team. He was constantly trying to track back and defend and take the ball forward to attack. Since we lost by a large margin, I will not name anyone from our team the man of the match but instead, I would say that Jia Le was the best performer in that match.

I think I would rate myself a 2 to 3. I think that i did not defend properly for the whole game and I always need constant reminder to get back to position. On the day , i did not mark my own man and i went out of position , this made the opponent had chances to score on the right flanks , by simply crossing in to the flanks and allowing them to score. I should've watched my back more and mark my own man , trying to contain them , not letting them shoot or cross. I think i did not apply some of the things that i'd learnt in training. I learnt to mark my own man , be in position and always on my toes , however i did not do all of that , i think what could've been better would be applying everything i've learnt on the match.
    2. What did you learn as a player/spectator from the match today?

I learnt that even though the opponent is faster , stronger and fitter than us we should not give up , we should continue to chase down the ball and try to win the ball back. Even though we let in a few goals , we should not be discouraged and give up on the whole match , the more the reason why we should chase him down and win the ball and try to score .I also learnt that we should have the desire to chase the ball and win the ball , we should chase the opponent down even though he managed to pass us.

    3. Do you think the team did well today?

I think the team did not do so well. However i can see that there are more communications between players compared to before. However i think that we have more room for improvements.

    4. How can you help the team to improve?

How i can help the team is that i can improve on my fitness , always be alert on the field and always communicate between each other during a match. I also think that how i help the team is that i can provide support in the flanks as I'm a wing back.

    5. What do you think the team can do together to improve?

What i think the team can do together is to pay attention during training so that we know what to do and can apply it on the field or matches. Also the team has to train their mentality to never give up no matter how strong the opponent might be. Also as a team i think that how we can improve is that we must train and improve our stamina as we can see from the matches that we have gone against , the other teams have bigger builds and higher stamina than us , so we must improve ourselves so that we can go against them.

    6. Who do you think is the man of the match today and justify your selection

I don't think anyone was the man of the match for this match as in general , the team did not do well. However i do see bennett running for the balls , sprinting for the ball. I think thats a good point to point out. I also think that jia le did a great job at defending , containing the player and tackling the players as well
