I would rate myself a 7/10. I did alright i think, though not that well. I failed to score in-front of open goal because i didn't use enough power. I had tried my best to penetrate the opponent's defence once or twice by dribbling and i succeeded once which led to a penalty for my team. I believe i had given quite a couple of chances for my teammates to shoot and score but sadly we couldn't quite finish and i didn't get any assists. Yes, i think i did apply what i had learned from training. Usually my first touch isn't well but because of training my first touch and passing on my last training session, i managed to control every pass.

    2. What did you learn as a player/spectator from the match today?
I learned some of my weaknesses and habits i need to change. I usually would not pass when a teammate is near an opponent even if there may be a chance for my teammate to control the ball and get it. So i guess i have to trust in my teammates more in their abilities and maybe i can make some amazing chances with through balls. I have also learned that my dribbling isn't that "penetrative" at times because i still lack the confidence to try to taunt and get pass the opponent. Even if i do try to take on my opponents, i don't use my speed to get away often and my opponents usually get right back to me.

    3. Do you think the team did well today?
Yes, i think the team did well, though i think we could do better including myself. On both halves of the match we managed to create a lot of chances, but failed to grab the goals. Passes didn't connect as much in the second half unlike the first half and player's positioning wasn't that well.

    4. How can you help the team to improve?
i actually and honestly don't know. I think we should all feel the need to improve ourselves first, learn from mistakes and learn from successes.

    5. What do you think the team can do together to improve?
Train harder, put in more effort and have the will to improve. I think some people should change their mentality of just wanting to score and attack.

    6. Who do you think is the man of the match today and justify your selection.
I think Wilbur is the man of the match because he constantly fought for the ball, defended well and also occasionally came up to support the attack.

  3. 1. 6/10. I made some correct passes and shots at goal and also got tackled a fair bit of times. I could have react quickly and pass once I receive the ball to prevent opponents from running in and tackle. Yes, I applied the technique of covering your team mates when defending

    2. I’ve learnt that I shouldn’t run around the whole field as it will only tire me and my team mates can cope by themselves.

    3. Yes, the goalkeeper made excellent saves, the defenders did well to tackle the ball. The midfielders covered supported the attack and the attack was fast to create space. So overall the team did well.

4.I could have been stronger when challenging the opposing team players.

    5. We could have communicated better with each other but we were not familiar in calling each other (except for some).

    6. Wen kai. He scored one or two goals. He led the team and could communicate really well with them. He could react very fast and run into spacing asking for the ball. He also dribbled past many players with skill tricks and has a lot of control with the ball.

  4. 1. I would rate myself a 6. This is because I find that I did averagely, and could have done better. I think what I did well for this match was that I made a few successful clearances that prevented the opponent from scoring. Communication with my team would be something that I can improve on. I did not communicate with the defence properly and the players ended up out of their positions and sometimes, two players from our team would go for the ball, instead of one. Also, I find that I must apply more of what I learned during training in a match. During a match, I find myself unable to focus and end up doing what is habitual, like clearing the ball as soon as I get the ball. This results in me always doing the same things, and committing the same mistakes.

    2. I learned as a player that I must be able to focus well during a match in order to apply what I learned, and improve on my weakness. Also, I learned that team work is important, and that constructive criticism is needed in order for the team to improve, and not scolding.

    3. I think that the team(Sec 2 and 3) did fairly well in the first half, making many opportunities for us to score and eventually scoring twice. But in the second half, things took a turn for the worse, as they started giving up after the opponents equalised. Their spirit and morale went down, and so did our chances of winning.

    4. I think that I must be able to keep the spirit and morale of the team high in order for them to keep on fighting and have the never say die mentality, this will improve the team quite significantly.

    5. I think that the team needs to stop scolding and blaming one another for mistakes that were made, more communication and trust is needed within the team is needed.

    6. I think that Bryan Goh should be the Man of the match. Even though he is younger than most of his opponents in the field, he has shown that he is able to be on par, or maybe even surpass the older players on the field, in terms of leadership, commitment and resilience. He is able to communicate well with his team and kept on fighting hard even though his team was down by 2 goals. His performance was commendable.

       i.e.

    I would rate myself a 3 or 4.

What did I do well today?

I watched the running man and

    What could have been better?

There were a few times when I was indecisive, such as the corner taken by Jia Le. I could have tried to header it out but by the time I did something, it was a goal. Also, I could have tried to calm down in dangerous situations. There was once where I panicked after an opponent passed and I used my weaker left foot to clear, but it went out of the playing area instead.

Did I apply what I have learned in training? If yes, how?

Whenever the goalkeeper passed to me, I made sure that I looked up and made eye contact before passing the ball.

    2. What did you learn as a player/spectator from the match today?

As a player, I learnt that one must be calm and focused during a match to be able to perform as his best. As spectators, we should try to encourage the losing team, especially if they are being thrashed, instead of rubbing it in their faces.

    3. Do you think the team did well today?

I think the team did well even though we lost. At first, we were doing well, but in the second half, when the teachers’ side started scoring, the morale seemed to go down. Also, communication was lacking at times.

    4. How can you help the team to improve?

I could help raise the morale of the team in order to allow them to continue playing on until the final whistle.

    5. What do you think the team can do together to improve?

The team has to stop scolding those that made mistakes, first, it brings the morale down, and second, the player would not learn from it as he would feel discouraged to play. Like Coach said, at the end of the day, we are a team, our differences must be set aside to work together to the best of our abilities.

    6. Who do you think is the man of the match today and justify your selection

The man of the match is probably Bryan Goh. Despite playing against seniors, he persevered by putting in effort to initiate some of the counterattacks and communicating with his team well to ensure they won.

  6. I would rate myself a 5. I made a few successful passes and dribbles but also made a few bad passes and gave away possession unnecessarily because of my poor control and first touch. I ran into space after passing the ball, which was one of the things that we learnt in training. I learnt that our reactions and decision-making have to be good as we only have a split second to make a decision, whether it is to take on a man or to pass the ball or whether to contain or commit. I think the team did well in penetrating the opposition's defence although we lacked the finishing touch. I can encourage my teammates and work and learn together as a team. We can improve our fitness together as the matches next year would be longer. I think the man of the match would be Luke. He made many dribbles and created chances to score. He was also determined to get the ball back whenever he lost possession.

  7. I would rate myself a 5 as I felt that I did not do too well nor too bad, though obviously I could have done better. Plus, I felt that I could have continued for the entire match. I felt that I did not mark the opponent as well as previous matches and thus he got the ball several times. If i had been marking him, he would not have received a pass from his team mates if not i would be there to challenge for the ball. Yes, I applied what I learnt in training, about turning your body sideways whenever there is a goalkick and also I always faced the ball.

I learnt that a team should work together in order to perform well. There is no point in arguing with your own team mates when they committed a silly mistake. A team wins together, and also loses together.

I think that this is the new B div's first match together and I think we did not all that well as we could have won if our defense had been a bit tighter and our goalkeepers more alert.

As a left back, I think i can support the left flank by providing support and also I can mark and defend better to not allow crosses or passing to be made on the opponent's right flank.

The team has to learn to not blame one another. i saw several conflicts happening during the match, and all could have been avoided if we learn how to forgive and forget. Players will feel demoralised and discouraged when people, especially his own team mates shout at him just because of a single mistake. We are a young team and mistakes are bound to happen, we just have to learn from it in order to improve.

On the new B div's team, I would put Timothy as the man of match. he commanded the defense well and minimized the number of passes made by the opponent by intercepting them. On the teachers' team, I would put Wen Kai. He lead the team with a great mind set to win. He pushed on attack after attack and communicated with his players well. He is a great leader on the field.

  8. I would rate myself 4 as I did well communicating with m teammates, which is key as I played as CAM who needs to support my teammates. My passes were also fairly accurate though I could have done a better job. I also defended well as I was more aggressive when tackling the ball. Though my control of the ball and my touch was horrible. I could not control the ball well and end up giving the ball away quite a number of times. A a captain, I feel that my performance was much below acceptable and hope to improve in the coming trainings and try to apply my learnings from training. But, i was conscious to run into space like coach emphasised in training. I feel that the team did well as they were more bonded. There was less finger pointing except for a few, not so serious cases. Many of the players called out and communicated in a team-like-manner. I think that if i can improve myself, i can be a good role model to the team as I have my captain reputation to uphold. I think that the man of the match have to be either wilbur or wen kai. Those two showed dedication to the match and played their all. they positioned themselves correctly and were very good in the task of their position. Wen kai, as a striker, always managed to find empty space or runs for his teammates to pass the ball to. Wilbur, as a CDM, had supported the attack well and even scored two goals. Yet, after pushing up far, he still ran back to support the defense once we lost the ball.
