  1. Probably my worst performance as a left back this year. I was out beaten too may times, too quickly, probably the same result would have happened if I wasn't there. Personally, I felt it wasn't due to the lack of fitness, I could still run and chase the opponent, what was missing was my ability to predict the opponent's next move. Something extremely crucial but lacked. However being on the more positive side, I did make a couple of attacking runs as we attack to support the play which coach encouraged as we were looking for the equaliser, however, the same thing happened always was the fact that teammates didn't want to pass despite being in an open position and after calling countless times for the ball.

During the course of the game, what separated us from the opponent was just a goal, but unfortunately, our goals were all 'soft' and it was due to the fact that we weren't on our toes to close the opponent down and our lack of concentration and situational awareness gave the opponent an advantage over us.

I believe that coach has done a great job in implementing the 3v1 and 5v2 drills, this allows the team to form their triangle and diamonds respectively in the supporting play and allowing the defenders to learn how to cover and how to read the game, especially useful for us who are always on the defensive

  2. 1. In my opinion, I didnt do too well as a right back due to my lack of speed. Their left wing was able to run pass me most of the time, which put much pressure on the centre defence. However, I daresay I did make a few good tackles etc.

    2. Through this, I have learnt that communication is extremely important, especially in the case of defence. Without calls, most players would not be warned of players behind them and/or about to pressure them.

    3. As a team, we were more composed in the second half then the first. However, I found that the defending mids weren't moving back enough, allowing them to flood the box most of the time. However, the forwards were playing a nice game this time round, allowing them to score multiple times.

    4. As an individual, I feel that I could improve my fitness level, and give more moral support to the team members, boosting morale which allows them to play better and with more ease.

    5. We need to build more team bonds, which makes us able to predict what our teammates are about to do.

  3. I feel that my stamina level has greatly improved but it still does have a lot of work that is needed to be done. There need s to be more communication and confidence within the team for more passing to be done. In order for that to happen we need a more bonded team and a more confident team. i have learnt that we can't just work on one player alone but need to work as a team. I believe that darius did do a good job in commanding the defence and helping out the attack at the same time. He guided the defence and made it tighter making each of us support each other.

  4. 1) I would rate myself 6.3. I was briefly introduced into the second period as a LM and I felt that I did pretty well in pressuring down the opponent's flanks, sending in crosses and creating space for the strikers. However, when I was placed back to my original position as CAM, I really did not know what to do with the ball. Many of times, whenever I receive the ball, there will be no one making runs down the flanks. Occasionally, the lone striker would call for the ball but most of the time he is in an offside position. Thus, as the game progressed, I became more and more frustrated, knowing that their defence aren't the best in the world, and we actually had a chance to win this game.

    2) I've learnt that it is extremely important to know your position. AND commit to it. For example, if you're a full back, your job does not end with defending. Take the initiative to attack down the flanks, make overlapping runs and call for the ball to send in crosses. Well, that is a typical full back in professional football. All in all, if we all perform our job well, we will always be helping the team. It is better to focus on your job than to poke your nose into other's businesses. I'm not saying that you can't do extra, but when you don't use the better options (open space, free player etc.) and lose the ball, you're not only out of position, you're putting pressure to the rest of the team.

3/4/5) Since this was a combined match, I would say that the overall performance of the team was barely satisfactory. The C boys actually did a better job at containing their midfield in the first period. The defensive mids are still lacking the discipline to protect the defence. Very little communication between the centre backs and the defensive mids, which caused us to concede a few long shots, one of them leading to a goal. As an individual, I felt that I let the team down. I had a glorious chance in front of goal, and I lashed the shot straight at the keeper.

    6) I feel that the MOTM should go to Wen Kai. The amount of confidence this guy has on the pitch cannot be rivaled. His versatility up front gave us a huge advantage, being able to dribble down the flanks and finish calmly as a striker.

  5. 1. Comment on your individual performance
I think I did brilliant today. I was outrunning everyone and completed all my dribbles. I wasn't dispossess at all for this match, which I think is an outstanding feat for anyone. However, I think I could have helped out more in the defence, because didn't track back down the flank for most of the times.

    2. What have you learnt?
Confusion. If you confuse the opposing players by dribbling in between the 2 defenders they will hesitate before putting in a challenge, and by then, the overlapping left back would be able to make space for himself, and I can cut into the center for a shot. If executed perfectly it is a foolproof plan.

    3. Comment on the team's performance
I think we did great in the first and third period, esp the third because the possession we have really outclass the opponents. The 2nd period was poor as it was a transitional period. Many players were tired, out of breath and hence lack the required concentration to focus.

    4. How can you as an individual help the team?
I should be passing more instead of dribbling. And of course, help back in defence.

    5. How do you think the team can improve together?
We get to play as a unit, and not get distracted easily because the final 3 goals we conceded were all from really trivial and child-play's defensive lapses.

  6. I feel that I had a rather anonymous match. Although I feel that I did not do too much wrong in the match, I did not make much of an impact. One thing I must admit is that I must be more confident. I say this as there was one thing that was stuck in my head. That was when I beat the right back and was through on goal. I thought about crossing into the box early but since I was playing on the left flank, for me to cross it in involved using my left foot which was my weaker foot. I was not too confident which is why I then made a decision to take a further touch into the penalty box so as to make it easier for me to cross it in. But at this time, my touch failed me as it was too heavy, allowing the keeper to grab the ball.
I can't really say much about the Sec 3's performance as I was not paying attention to the 2nd half of the match, but I can say that the Sec 1s and 2s played fairly well as the scoreline showed after the first third. The defence held up pretty well with Timothy covering well for the others. I will not say the full backs did particularly amazing as they were abit fragile at times, losing composure under pressure. But other than that I felt that we did pile on some pressure on the opponent which did allow us to attack on the break at times.
Another thing that I noticed that sometimes communication was an issue. There were a few times the defenders assumed that the other was going to get the ball which resulted in both of them backing away from the ball which allowed the opponent to just retrieve the ball and attack since the ball was lost in our first third.
